About this part

1/10 LCG Competition RTR Rock Crawler

This is the Ascent Fusion LCG 1/10 4WD RTR Brushless Scale Rock Crawler from Redcat. Building upon the renowned low center of gravity (LCG) design of its predecessor, the Ascent Fusion takes things to a whole other level with cutting-edge upgrades that'll leave you breathless with excitement. With added power, performance, durability, and a significantly lower center of gravity, the Ascent Fusion is a mean crawler designed to conquer the toughest trails with ease.

About the Ascent Fusion

Powerful Brushless Motor

The Ascent Fusion features a potent 1800KV 540-size brushless motor, seamlessly integrated with an ESC for unparalleled power delivery and efficiency. This high-performance setup ensures smooth and precise control, enabling the crawler to tackle steep inclines and challenging terrains with ease. Whether climbing over rocks or navigating through muddy trails, the brushless motor delivers superior performance, enhanced wheel speed, and seamless power delivery, providing enthusiasts with an exhilarating off-road experience like no other.

Precision Carbon Fiber Components

Engineered with precision and passion, the Ascent Fusion boasts carbon fiber frame rails, shock towers, and motor mount with a substantial 3mm thickness. These meticulously crafted components not only contribute to the crawler's durability but also significantly lower the center of gravity, enhancing stability and maneuverability on rugged terrain. The carbon fiber construction, complemented by anodized red washers and black aluminum braces, ensures robustness while maintaining maximum ground clearance, allowing the Ascent Fusion to conquer the toughest trails with confidence.

Quick-Change Underdrive Transmission

The innovative quick-change underdrive transfer case of the Ascent Fusion enables swift gear changes without the need to remove the entire transmission. With the included 20% underdrive gear set installed for improved crawling performance, enthusiasts have the flexibility to fine-tune the vehicle's performance to suit various off-road scenarios. Additionally, the optional 0% and 10% underdrive gear sets provide further customization options, allowing drivers to optimize the crawler's performance based on terrain conditions and personal preferences.

Not a complete review yet, but I can confirm that the u-joints in the front and rear axles that were needing to be Loctited because they would loose the screw and fall apart, have been eliminated. It's a sealed unit now there are no exposed fasteners. Way to go Red Cat! I bought this truck from Amain on 08/15/2024. I'm guessing that if you're purchasing after that date, you will probably have the updated you joints. Update: 09/23/2024- After owning this for a little over a month now, I can happily say I'm completely satisfied. This stock truck goes everywhere that my friend's Capra with major upgrades goes. YES. SERIOUSLY. It's awesome. For the price? INCREDIBLE. You can't go wrong with this truck. Very highly recommended.

This thing is fantastic! Throw some additional brass on there, a better driver than me, and this thing will hit every gate with the best of them!

The Redcat Ascent Fusion is a great crawler. At $400 for a brushless motor, carbon fiber rails and brass wheel weights it is a steal.

I have several crawlers. Everything I have purchased so far has been an RTR. With the exception of my 4WS Capra, this has been the MOST capable RTR I have ever purchased. This is simply because the Capra has 4 wheel steer. This truck looks amazing, brass portal covers help create a Low CG, stays planted. hobbywing fusion pro gives a fantastic amount of control. 20% underdrive installed from the factory. It’s like a billy goat. At 399 this is an ASTONISHINGLY capable rig. My ONLY beef with the RTR Version is that when I took it apart there was some loose bits, and not nearly enough grease. No loctite on some critical drivetrain components. However, it’s always a good idea to go over your RTR’s when you buy them, for just this reason. If you’re on the fence, hop on YouTube and look at some reviews. You won’t be disappointed.

What reviewers say

Reviewers broadly rate the Redcat Ascent Fusion LCG 1/10 4WD RTR crawler highly, praising its out-of-the-box climbing performance, value at around $400, and build quality, with several noting it runs well stock and upgrades well with brass and tires. Recurring points are that RTR units need checking for loose screws, missing thread-locker and grease, and that the 2mm link ends are weak with 3S batteries. One reviewer reported a shattered shock that the seller replaced. Some reviewers mention the ESC has limited adjustability, with reverse set at full power, and one felt the Fusion name implied a different ESC. Several reviews mention a verified-owner status and a changed U-joint design, with one noting the sealed updated joints on newer units. Delivery handling and battery size were also mentioned. Reviews are mostly positive, with a few specific complaints.

  • + Strong climbing performance out of the box
  • + Good value for the price
  • + Solid build and capable stock setup
  • + Responsive seller service for replacement parts
  • − Loose hardware and insufficient grease from factory
  • − 2mm link ends weak with 3S batteries
  • − Limited ESC adjustability and reverse set at full power
  • − Tires are firm for rocky terrain
