Great truck, stock electronics such as esc suck, I had it set to lipo and truck never slowed down or acted funny. The truck stopped and I went to change the battery and it was 1% charged. I know most people change the stock electronics soon as they get the truck, but for those that don't be warned.

If your looking for nice out of the box rig I highly recommend it. Redcat has stepped their game up with this rig. I have been very satisfied with it so far minus 1 thing. The reason it didn't get a full 5 star review is because of the esc sucks in my opinion. I ended up pulling it and the motor out and putting a hobbywing fusion in it and turned it into a crawling beast. I'm definitely glad I bought one especially the blue one since I prefer to run cab only bodies.

When I received my Redcat, it had 4 broken links and two bent shock shafts and no damage to any of the boxes. Not an RTR. It took Redcat a couple days to send out replacement parts, but with that much damage it makes me curious as to how long the other link ends are going to last. I hate the fact that I have to have a wrench to take things apart because of the nuts on the backside, just another piece to loose when disassembling. I do like the fact of having the overdrive gears available right out the gate without the extra purchase. With the price of the unit, it is a great value. Poor quality control out of the factory really hits hard on a ready to run.

What reviewers say

Reviewers of the blue Redcat Ascent LCG RTR 1/10 4WD rock crawler generally find it good value and fun for the price, with several praising its out-of-the-box performance and looks. Opinions diverge somewhat: most ratings are four or five stars, but one reviewer reported shipping damage with four broken links and two bent shock shafts, and described quality control as poor. The stock ESC drew the most criticism; one owner said it failed to warn of a low LiPo battery, and another replaced the ESC and motor. One reviewer noted the overdrive gears are included and the wrench-required nuts are an inconvenience. Reviewers say it is not a competition-ready machine. Seven reviews, all verified, limit the confidence in these trends.
