10th Scale Comp Crawler
The Redcat Vertex-10 combines brushless power, durable engineering, and advanced suspension design to take comp crawling to the next level. Its electronics deliver smooth, responsive control, while the reinforced chassis and drivetrain provide the strength needed for extreme terrain. With finely tuned suspension geometry and precise steering, the Vertex-10 offers a perfect balance of power, durability, and performance for serious rock crawling enthusiasts.
About the Vertex-10
Brushless Power and Precision Electronics
The Vertex-10 is powered by the Hobbywing system, combining a 2812 1700KV brushless motor with a programmable 60A ESC for smooth, efficient, and reliable performance. With 4S capability and an 8.4V BEC, this system delivers exceptional torque and control across challenging terrain. Steering precision comes from the HX-50BL digital servo, featuring durable metal gears and a massive 694oz/in of torque for confident handling. The brushless power system and precision electronics package provide the strength, accuracy, and responsiveness demanded by comp crawling.
Advanced Suspension and Steering Geometry
The Vertex-10 features an advanced suspension and steering system designed for smooth articulation and precise control. Air emulsion, oil-filled shocks with X-ring seals deliver consistent damping and durability across rugged terrain. Double CV joints provide ultra-smooth articulation, even at extreme steering angles, ensuring maximum maneuverability in tight spots. Together, these features create a suspension system that balances durability, flexibility, and precision for serious crawling performance.
Durability
The Vertex-10 is built on a low center of gravity carbon chassis with a forward-mounted motor, delivering stability and strength on demanding terrain. Reinforced solid axles with steel internal tube inserts provide exceptional durability, while hypoid-style ring and pinion gears increase ground clearance and allow the axle housing to slide smoothly over obstacles. Splined metal driveshafts ensure a constant, reliable connection, with angled ends designed to clear rocks and uneven terrain. High-clearance rear links, adjustable suspension geometry, and a tilt body mounting system further enhance toughness and performance. Combined, these features create a crawler that's engineered to withstand extreme conditions while maintaining precision and control.

Those is one awesome RTR. I have a vrd Carbon that is built along with Phoenix and trx4 sport. This thing straight out of the box is hitting lines the others can't. True there is not much aftermarket support for it yet but it will happen. I also had none of the problems with mine that others had. This is just a great crawler. Redcat has burnt me before with other vehicles but they have definitely redeemed themselves to me.
I picked this up because I bought the Vertex-6 a few months ago and this is easily gonna be my new favorite truck. You really don't need to upgrade anything out of the box, the servo is actually incredible, the motor is capable of running so slow you almost can't tell the wheels are turning, and the chassis is extremely high quality. The only problems I had were the shocks being low on oil and full of air bubbles, and the battery tray is ridiculously small. Out of 40 something lipos I only have 3 that'll fit anywhere on it. The fact that Redcat still don't include a manual that tells you anything aside from how to turn the truck on and off will never make sense to me, especially when the downloadable one isn't any better. All in all, completely worthy of 5 stars purely for the driving experience and the overall parts/build quality, especially compared to some other Redcat vehicles I've owned.
This thing is amazing, it crawls over everything. I highly recommend it.
Had mine for a few months, modified to a full droop 110mm Desert Lizzard shock setup and this crawler has become even way more capable. I did add silicone inserts green/blue front /black and jconcept green Ruptures with some heavy brass 2.2 wheels and rock lights. That also noticeably improved performance.
Overall stoked on the quality of this truck, its runs amazing on a 1300mah 4S battery with plenty of runtime and loads of power that packs a punch. I have yet to make any immediate upgrades as it really doesn’t need anything besides personal preference items. I took the bed off to match my apex and it gives it that “comp” halfcab look we all love.
All five reviewers rate the Vertex-10W 5/5 and describe it as a capable, high-quality out-of-the-box crawler, with praise for the servo, low-speed motor control, chassis quality and climbing ability. Several note it needs few or no upgrades. Reviewers disagree on minor points: one reports no problems, while another reports shocks low on oil with air bubbles. The most consistent complaints are the small battery tray, which fits few lipo packs, and a minimal manual. Aftermarket support is described as limited so far. One reviewer modified the truck with a longer-travel shock setup and wheels, reporting further improvement. Reviews refer to the Electric Green variant.
