Redcat Vertex-6 Crawler 1/6 RTR 4WD Electric Brushless Rock Crawler (Orange) w/2.4GHz Radio
About this part
6th Scale Comp Crawler
The Redcat Vertex-6 combines brushless power, durable engineering, and advanced suspension design to take large-scale crawling to the next level. Its electronics deliver smooth, responsive control, while the reinforced chassis and drivetrain provide the strength needed for extreme terrain. With finely tuned suspension geometry and precise steering, the Vertex-6 offers a perfect balance of power, durability, and performance for serious rock crawling enthusiasts.
About the Vertex-6
Brushless Power and Precision Electronics
The Vertex-6 is powered by the Hobbywing Fusion RTR 2-in-1 FOC system, combining a 4269 1800KV brushless motor with a programmable ESC for smooth, efficient, and reliable performance. With 4S capability, advanced FOC technology, and an 8.4V BEC, this system delivers exceptional torque and control across challenging terrain. Steering precision comes from the HX-LS large-scale digital servo, featuring durable metal gears and a massive 972oz/in of torque for confident handling. The brushless power system and precision electronics package provide the strength, accuracy, and responsiveness demanded by large-scale rock crawling.
Advanced Suspension and Steering Geometry
The Vertex-6 features an advanced suspension and steering system designed for smooth articulation and precise control. Air emulsion, oil-filled shocks with X-ring seals deliver consistent damping and durability across rugged terrain. Double CV joints provide ultra-smooth articulation, even at extreme steering angles, ensuring maximum maneuverability in tight spots. Adjustable Ackerman geometry with included tuning blocks allows drivers to fine-tune steering response for optimal handling. Together, these features create a suspension system that balances durability, flexibility, and precision for serious crawling performance.
Durability
The Vertex-6 is built on a low center of gravity chassis with a forward-mounted motor, delivering stability and strength on demanding terrain. Reinforced solid axles with steel internal tube inserts provide exceptional durability, while hypoid-style ring and pinion gears increase ground clearance and allow the diamond-shaped axle housing to slide smoothly over obstacles. Splined metal driveshafts ensure a constant, reliable connection, with angled ends designed to clear rocks and uneven terrain. High-clearance rear links, adjustable suspension geometry, and a tilt body mounting system further enhance toughness and performance. Combined, these features create a crawler that's engineered to withstand extreme conditions while maintaining precision and control.

What an amazing rig! This thing will go pretty much anywhere right out of the box, and if you optimise it with a few $0 mods it will defy gravity. None of the videos you see will do justice to seeing what this can do in person, it constantly amazes me. note: the shocks are made of cheese, budget for better ones.
The crawler chassis looks awesome. Its huge. Suspension looks incredible, crazy good articulation. This thing is going to scale some serious terrain. The radio that it comes with it is a different story. It Looks like something that would come with a $29 playskool rc car. What an embarrassment, Really cheap. For $800 i would expect something a little better to match the level of the crawler. I cant be seen in public with it in my hand so im going to switch the receiver and use my flysky. Will update when i see how this thing performs
I've put a ton of crawling on it ....very good so far....no broken parts ..no issues at all ...easy five stars !!!!!
Bought with no regrets! Love the 1/6 scale action! Definitely different than 1/10 and all the fun. It’s crazy to watch this just eat obstacles you put in its way
Four verified owners rate the Redcat Vertex-6 Crawler highly, averaging 4.75 out of 5. Reviewers praise its size, obstacle-climbing performance, articulation and out-of-the-box capability, and describe it as fun in 1/6 scale. One reviewer notes that the included shocks are weak and suggests upgrading them, and another criticises the bundled 2.4GHz radio as cheap and substandard for the price, saying they would replace it with their own transmitter. Reviews are short and only some describe extended use; one owner reports no broken parts after considerable crawling. All reviews refer to the Orange variant.
