Reedy Sonic 877 1/8 Scale Truggy Sensored Brushless Motor (2000kV)
About this part
The Sonic 877 is available in a 2000kV option, and is optimized for 1/8 eTruggy, while its slightly smaller brother the Sonic 866, is available in two kV options and is recommended for 1:8 eBuggy. However, the motors are interchangeable between chassis types and can be used in a variety of applications to create a wide range of performance options suitable for a wide variety of track conditions.

It was awesome while it lasted. It overheated on it's 3rd race day?(approximately 30 laps of total use).I'm not sure if it's my luck or what, but I've had a few Reedy products disappoint me within my first 6 months of getting into RC.Reedy "was"the best when I was a kid.
So far have not had luck with this product I have bought two form you changed escs and itll only go in reverse and cant figure out why I thought I shorted out the first one I bought that's why I got the second one and still have the same problem and I tried contacting reedy about the problem but they are of no help they just want me to send it to them but they are giving no advice on what the problem may be so as of right now I think this product is junk and reedy is not very good with advice
This motor is completely awesome!! Bulletproof in every way. I’ve put these through the wringer they all just keep kicking butt! I used one to run a R/C car over water and it went back and forth like a dream. Well, until the battery got low and it went into low battery mode and sank. It wasn’t going fast enough to speed over the water. The best part is it sat at the bottom of the lake for over an hour until we could get it out. As soon as I got it back to shore I swapped out the battery and that sucker fired right up and did a bunch more lake runs! Then I used it at the track a few times where it performed perfect! Followed by another flawless lake day where we ran it back and fourth through a few battery packs. I was so impressed I had to say something so here it is. I have 3 of these in 3 different rigs. They all run perfect every time. In fact they don’t even get hot.
I recently upgraded my son's Associated Truggy and the motor has been great. He entered his first Novice race over Memorial Day Weekend and his Truggy performed well. He took 1st place during our clubs cash races, took TQ and then finished 3rd in the Main.
very powerful motor, was delivered on time. thank you amain
Reviewers are mostly positive about the Reedy Sonic 877 2000kV sensored brushless motor, with three of five giving 5/5 and praising its power and durability, including one owner who ran it over water and at the track. Two reviews are negative. One reports overheating after about 30 laps over three race days. Another reports that a motor and two replacement ESCs only ran in reverse, and says Reedy support asked for the unit to be returned without offering troubleshooting advice. The reviews are few and conflict on reliability, so the overall picture is uncertain.
- + Strong power
- + Good durability in reported use
- + Good track performance
- + Prompt delivery
- − Overheating reported after about 30 laps
- − Reverse-only operation reported with replacement ESCs
- − Limited support response from manufacturer
