Reefs customer service is not good. If I'm paying a premium price I expect premium service. You'll never see any Reefs products on my rigs ever again.
Cannot belive i just paid 200 for a servo that didn’t last a month. I know what i’m doing and set end points correctly on a proper amp bec. this servo went on a $2400 comp crawler and completely failed me and left me hanging on a trail 2 hours from home. completely just changed my mind on reefs. take my word and go with a different company. I sure did love reefs until this.. tripple 7 and 422 are still in my fleet and i’m satisfied but unfortunately this one only looks good and doesn’t last.
The servo lasted about a month before it over heated and burnt out. Customer support claims it needs a BEC even though the website says nothing about needing one. Not worth the money or hassle
I purchased this directly from reefs. Lasted about 2 weeks. Electronics failed in not very extreme situation and denied warranty because of battery. I had a venom 4000mah 3s with reefs easy Bec dual. They did end up offering 20% discount but after more research, I think I'm going to someone with a better warranty. I cannot upload pictures here but took the servo apart, There are 2 capacitors for power distribution immediately behind the power cord, they are breaking through the thermal pads from factory and shorting out. Not coverred with potting compound and too big for the case...HUGE PROBLEM FROM FACTORY.
Insanely strong with BEC and incredibly fast, I run these on all my rigs
Seven reviews of this brass-edition low-profile digital servo are mixed but lean strongly negative. Five reviews rate it 1 or 2 stars, and most describe failure within weeks, including overheating and burnout, sometimes during normal use. Several reviewers report that warranty claims were denied or disputed, with support saying a BEC is required, which some say is not stated on the website. One reviewer who took the unit apart reports capacitors breaking through thermal pads, but this is a single owner's account. Two verified 5-star reviews praise its strength and speed when run with a BEC. One reviewer notes the non-brass 800LP version has received better reviews.
- + Strong torque
- + Fast response
- + Performs well with a BEC
- − Failures within weeks of use
- − Overheating and burnout
- − Warranty claims denied or disputed
- − Reported capacitor and thermal pad fault
