This is a optional Robinson Racing "Hi-Performance" .8 Mod Steel Slipper Kit, and is intended for use with the Traxxas Slash. Robinson Racing GEN3 Slipper Units are over-engineered to meet the punishing demands of the most powerful brushless motor systems! GEN3 Slipper Units will not fail under the enormous load conditions of today's brushless motor systems. The new GEN3 Slipper Unit is a captured design to prevent slipper pad blowout and deliver maximum power to the ground. The hi-performance hardened steel spur gear will not fail or strip. Strong and tough 0.8 module/32-pitch teeth handle all the power you can pour on the spur gear. Aircraft grade billet aluminum backplate will not bend or break. Increased surface area of the oversized pad insures dependable performance. Less total parts reduces flex and wobble in the spur gear and slipper unit. Bearing included.
NOTE: This slipper kit requires the use of .8 Mod pinion gears. It is recommended that you combine this spur gear with a Robinson Racing .8 Mod hardened steel pinion gear for optimum durability.

Just got this today and dropped it in. Fits perfectly under my RPM gear case. Great way to go if your looking to put 32p in your slash.
Joseph is right. Everything is a beefy and perfect way to safely upgrade to 32p gears should be a little cheaper but great product!
It says it comes with hex slipper pads. it does not come with hex slipper pads. What you see there is what you get - the gear, the bearing, the stickers. No hex pad. You will buy this and realize you then need to go back and buy the slipper pads.
This gear is to replace a defective one that had inconsistent hardness which resulted in several teeth half gone and sharp as a razor blade and the rest perfect with no wear including the pinion gear. This has nothing to do with gear mesh as I am anal about correct gear mesh. The fact that it is now over a month since I ordered the replacement gear and have not received it tells me that there may be a quality control and supply issue.
