Robinson Racing Hardened Steel Idler Gear
About this part
Reviews3.5 · 4 reviews
Bought one a week ago, raced one night, and the very next practice day the tranny locked up. Tough as nails for sure, ate up everything but itself in the transmission. Another $20 to buy the stock tranny gears and return to stock. Suggestion: just replace the stock idler gear everytime you rebuild the diff. only $2 on A-main
Tough as nails. Unbreakable. Typical Robinson quality.
Bulletproof. Combine with the aluminum diff gear for more durability.
Does this work for prosc 10 I don’t want too buy the whole plastic set! Yes I do know about the compatibility list...
Reviews are mixed. Two verified owners praise the gear as very durable, describing it as tough and bulletproof. One verified owner reports the transmission locking up shortly after installation, with the hardened idler reportedly wearing down the transmission gears, and recommends reverting to stock gears. A fourth, unverified review is a compatibility question about a different model and does not assess performance. The reviews disagree on durability, and the single negative account describes a serious failure, so the product's effect on transmission wear is not settled.
- + Very durable
- + Strong, hardened construction
- − Reported transmission lockup after one race day
- − Reportedly wears down stock transmission gears
