RPM Gear Cover for Traxxas 2WD Chassis (Blue)
About this part
Not only do they look great, they will protect those expensive gears like nothing else available! RPM's new gear cover will pay for itself the very first time you run through the dirt and nothing enters your gear case. No more blown gears from rocks and debris!
NOTE: This Gear Cover is not compatible with the 272R transmissions.
Features:
- An oversized access hole and soft plug for easy access to the slipper clutch nut while still maintaining an unmatched seal of the gear mesh area. Our plug stays in place yet is easy to remove and install.
- Completely sealed. Stock gear covers have a large, open gap between the spur gear and the out-drive that allows gear destroying dirt to enter.
- Sleek contours that would look great on any vehicle.
- More clearance for larger pinions for owners hungry for speed.
- Retains all stock geometry for easy bolt up; no cutting or gluing required.

this is worth everything i does not have the hole that the original ones have so it save the slipper clutch from dirt and grass coming in
One of the single best upgrades you can make to your Slash. This will keep dirt/debris from getting into the gear area and will greatly extend the life of your pinions and motor. This is a must have!!!
Saves time when adjusting slipper clutch worth every penny.
I purchased this item as I was getting dirt/grass built up in the gear mesh area with the stock cover. This does work as intended, however in a tumble (which is often with our stampede basher) the shock tower can push against the cover and kind of pop it out of position. You can hear it as soon as it does it because thd spur lightly contacts the cover and makes a noise. Kind of annoying to have to pop it back in place all the time. I didn't have that problem with the stock spur cover.
Reviewers generally report that this blue gear cover for the Traxxas 2WD chassis keeps dirt and grass out of the gear mesh and slipper clutch area, and that it makes slipper clutch adjustment easier. One verified owner, who rated it 4/5, found it works as intended but reported that in tumbles the shock tower can push the cover out of position, causing the spur gear to contact it and make noise, which they found annoying to reseat. That reviewer said they did not have this problem with the stock cover. Ratings are high overall, but the sample is small and the positioning issue appears in only one review.
