About this part

RPM Traxxas X-Maxx Oversized Front Axle Carriers feature increased durability and larger inner bearings. Stock bearings are a mere 20x27x4mm while the oversized bearings RPM uses are gigantic a 20x32x7mm. This delivers a load rating that is nearly 300% higher than the stock bearings while the static load rating is over 300% higher. That’s triple the strength of the stock inner bearings.

Features:
  • Replaces stock Traxxas TRA7737
  • Includes gigantic 20x32x7mm inner bearings
  • Massive steering support ribs for the strongest possible carriers
  • Outer bearings not included (Stock bearings are used)
  • Sold in pairs (1 Left/1 Right)

Not recommended. The fitment of the pivot points to the C-hubs caster blocks were too tight. Modification may be required to fit. Recommend using Traxxas 7737X instead.

The issues with these axles carriers seems to be fixed as these were a perfect fit on my Xmaxx. Amazing stuff from RPM as always.

I’m a big fan of RPM products, but I’m absolutely shocked that they’ve done nothing about the rampant issues with these knuckles, particularly with the pins coming out. It’s shameful.

These carriers have such a bad reputation and I am not sure why. Slight filing was needed to ensure the steering was nice and smooth, other than that they are great.

What reviewers say

Reviewers are split on fit and quality. Two reviewers report good fitment on a Gen 1 X-Maxx, one of them after a 6S to 8S conversion, and one says the earlier issues appear resolved. One reviewer found the pivot points too tight on the C-hubs and suggested a Traxxas 7737X alternative. Another criticised recurring problems with the knuckles, particularly pins coming out, and said the manufacturer had not addressed them. A fourth reviewer noted slight filing was needed for smooth steering but otherwise rated the product highly. Overall, reviewers agree that some fitting adjustment can be needed, with disagreement over whether the reported pin and fit issues are still present.

  • + Good fit on Gen 1 X-Maxx
  • + Fits without trimming on conversion
  • + Performs well after light filing
  • − Pivot points tight on C-hubs
  • − Reported pin coming out
  • − Some reviewers needed filing for smooth steering
