I have almost every 050 motor out there this is absolutely The best motor out there and for the price makes it even better might be a little loud it's only because it's got cooling holes repeat cooling holeschooling holes no other motor has them yet
Not as smooth as stock or the hot racing motor but on the low mode it is very controllable. Definitely faster than stock which makes it easy to walk with and bump up rocks. 4/5 because it is a little hard to modulate the throttle for technical crawling but overall good motor.
I’m writing this review just finishing the instal and doing a quick test. With the Samix motor mount, the motor can be installed at the top most position with zero modifications to the chassis or battery tray. The motor is not as smooth as the stock one in the gladiator. It seems to give you a high pitch whine with just enough trigger input. The motor gives the truck a lot more torque, and a tiny bit of more speed. Within 10-15 minutes of straight running the motor at 60-100% throttle, it would be barely warm. It is quite loud though. 4/5, only because it’s not as smooth as stock, but for the painless install and instant torque upgrade, it’s hard to complain at the price point!! Great buy, highly recommended!!
I got this a month ago and burnt an esc running thru water. Reciever still work thankfully. And so does the motor, the amount of torque it makes is nuts for it and it goes directly into the stock scx24 and just sit perfectly in the space between the battery tray legs and the transmission. Highly recommend.
this motor is good, the low speed is not as good as the stock motor, but its got more torque. It's faster than stock. It is a tad noisy. in my experience, it tends to get very hot when running it faster (even during winter), the battery last the same time. it has enough torque to drive with snow tracks. I would recommend protecting the holes ( with inner fenders) if you plan on running in sandy\ dusty conditions.
Reviewers generally report that this motor delivers noticeably more torque and somewhat more speed than the stock SCX24 motor, and that it fits the stock chassis, with one reviewer noting the Samix motor mount allows top-most installation without chassis modifications. The main recurring trade-off is smoothness: several reviewers say low-speed and throttle modulation are less refined than stock, particularly for technical crawling. Noise is mentioned by several reviewers as high-pitched or loud. Heat is mixed: one reviewer found it barely warm after several minutes at moderate-to-high throttle, while another reported it running very hot at higher speeds. One reviewer reported an ESC failure after running the truck through water, without attributing it clearly to the motor. Reviews are few and some are brief.
