About this part

The Samix SCX24 Brass Servo Mount is a heavy duty servo mount option for the SCX24 family of trucks that allows the use of stronger, more precise and more durable mini servos. Plus, this mount adds 7 grams of unsprung weight to the front axle to improve the front/rear weight bias and help to offset the weight of a heavy body.

This mount makes it easy to convert your mini rig to use the EcoPower 827 or EMAX ES08MAII servo, while at the same time providing a more rigid front upper link mount to help provide more precise suspension movement. Package includes servo mount and hardware.

Features:
  • CNC machined billet brass, coated black
  • Adds 7 grams of weight to the front axle
  • More durable than stock plastic mount
  • Will not flex like stock mount when high torque servo is used
  • Creates a stiffer upper linkage mount
  • Direct fit for EcoPower 827 emax ES08 servos without any modifications
  • Direct replacement upgrade for stock plastic Axial servo mount, no modification required (Not compatible with factory servo)

It is a beautiful upgrade piece but the holes for the tie rods are not the same size. One side is threaded and accepts the original screws the other side is over sized and the screw just passes thru. This will only work for you if you are using a 3 point mounting system. You need to use the 'Y' tie rod. This should be expressly stated in the description or compatibility, it is not. Wasted my money. Thanks.

I bought this to pair with the suggested ECO servo for my SCX24 Gladiator. While the mount has a tight fit it still catches the frame on the top sides while at maximum axle articulation and it puts the servo to far forward causing it to bind everywhere. I’m wondering why I didn’t go with Yeah Racing’s even though I don’t know if theirs has the same issue. Good luck with getting both to work.

I agree with Eric-Todd Anderson, the link connection is open on one end and threaded on the other. Cannot put a 4 link only 3 link wishbone. If I knew this i wouldn't have gotten this, but its brass compared to aluminum. Great being brass, but no 4 link. Servo mounting screws are 2mm while others are 1.4mm. Replaced the knurled screw with a button head 2x5 screw which has larger surface area. If you are using Emax, you have to enlarge the holes or it will crack. Ecopower servo is already 2mm. Update: I filed down the side edges to fit injoras plastic ended 4 link but have to use a nut on one side. I love it.

I bought this mount to go with the Emax servo. This is a direct fit and I did not have any issues mounting this plate to the servo or to the SCX24 Deadbolt Chassis. Where I did have issues is finding some hardware to mount to the after market aluminum front link I have. Buyer beware If you want to run the the aluminum front link (Hot Racing link), Emax servo and this mount you'll have to get creative to get it working. I'm not convinced yet that this servo mount has any performance gain to just a standard aluminum or stock mount. I've played with all sorts of weight combinations so far I've taken them all out. IMO this is a solid piece and fits perfect to the Emax servo with the supplied hardware. However I'm just not sure it's all that, though I could be surprised as I drive more.

What reviewers say

Reviewers agree the brass mount is well made and fits the Emax or EcoPower servo, and one reports a direct fit to the SCX24 Deadbolt chassis. The main recurring problem is tie-rod compatibility: one reviewer found the two tie-rod holes differ in size, so it works only with a 3-point setup using the Y tie rod, and another could not fit a 4-link wishbone. Servo screw sizes also differ (2mm versus 1.4mm), and one reviewer reports the holes need enlarging with Emax to avoid cracking. Another reviewer found the mount caught the frame at full articulation and placed the servo too far forward. Reviewers disagree on performance benefit: one saw no gain over a standard mount, while another was satisfied. One review refers to a different link type, and the product description does not clearly state tie-rod requirements.

  • + Well-made brass construction
  • + Fits Emax and EcoPower servos
  • + Direct fit to SCX24 Deadbolt chassis
  • − Tie-rod holes differ in size; 3-point Y link needed
  • − Cannot use a 4-link wishbone without modification
  • − Servo screw sizes differ; holes may crack with Emax
  • − Catches frame and sits too far forward on Gladiator
