- When used with compatible receivers with Super Vortex Series, SV-Plus Series, PGS Servo Series, and SGS-02, etc. by Transmitter is available through SSL functions while driving.
- Since the setting can be done without the stop of car, the detailed adjustment in accordance with Race conditions is available without interruption of Intervals and the change of machine conditions.
- RESPONSE OF TELEMETRY SYSTEM
- It is often said that telemetry system reduce response speed. However, SANWA Original Data Processing and Algorithm Design makes Telemetry possible without response speed reduction.
- Sanwa's Excellent Telemetry System has no response speed reduction.
- RESPONSE MODE
- Please do not use Analog Servo for SHR mode, SSR mode or SUR mode. If analog servo is used for SHR mode or SSR mode, the servo will be broken and will not work.
- Digital servo (PGS, SRG, Digital ERG, SDX series) can be used both for NOR mode and SHR mode.
- SUR mode can be used only by PGS series servo
- In SHR or SSR mode, BL-FORCE, BL-SPORT, F3300, SBL-02 and SBL-03CR do not work.
- Please use NOR mode for the above ESC.

Good thing I researched this before I made the plunge... This, along with the new Sanwa radios, ARE NOT COMPATIBLE with the previous FH4, FH3 and FH2 receivers. So if you have multiple cars like me, this is not the radio to buy. Looks like the only option is to get the more expensive M17.
I bought one of these second hand but wanted to give a review. I also own an MT-R. Overall, this is a good radio. The steering and throttle feel super great, and I feel very connected to the car while on the track. Range is "fine" (though I'm wholly disappointed in the range and latency capabilities surface RC protocols compared to what is available on sticks). The menus are easy to navigate, and the radio has a nice weight. It's light without feeling cheap. Compared to the mt-R and m-17, It's much closer in form to an m17 than the mt-R in my opinion. The steering and throttle potentiometers feel the same as the m17, the weight distribution is more similar to an m17. The mt-r steering just doesn't feel quite as nice it's like the wheel is tighter no matter how you adjust the two radios. I really dislike that it takes three AAA rather than three AA dry cells though. Battery life is pretty bad. Ordering a sanwa battery and doing the wireless charging is expensive because of the cost of the sanwa lipo. This is what's nice about the mt-R. 4 AA batteries last really long in that radio, and getting rechargable AA batteries is a good cheap solution for that radio. I wouldn't recommend going the AAA route on this one.
So far i like the radio, a little disappointed that it doesn't work with the previous receiver's. It's a big investment to buy a new radio and all new receivers. I would recommend the M17.
Very happy with this radio. Super feature packed. The telemetry seems cool but not sure how it’s useful… It’s light, comfortable, looks good, balanced, had great range, no glitches. It does so many things, you’ll want to keep the manual handy tk understand and make use of all of it!
So far love it !, I am new to this level of radio, it's more than I need , but would highly recommend!
Reviewers broadly praise the MT-5's responsiveness, adjustable wheel and trigger tension, light and comfortable feel, and value relative to the M17. Several describe strong range and no connection glitches, and note the radio's feature depth. The main recurring complaint is incompatibility with older FH2, FH3 and FH4 receivers, which two low-rated reviewers cite as a reason to switch brands or models. Other criticisms include a folding handle some find unnecessary, a narrow original steering wheel, a janky AAA battery holder, and unclear guidance on which Sanwa LiPo battery to use. Telemetry usefulness is questioned by one reviewer. One review mentions a second-hand unit, and one reports receivers arriving pre-bound.
- + Responsive steering and throttle
- + Adjustable wheel and trigger tension
- + Light and comfortable
- + Good value versus M17
- − Not compatible with FH2/FH3/FH4 receivers
- − Folding handle unnecessary
- − Janky AAA battery holder
- − Unclear LiPo battery guidance
