The LD3D is designed for dirt and low-grip racing environments, providing a competitive edge for racers seeking high performance. This LD3D variant of Schumacher's 1/10th 2WD racing buggy lineup incorporates a specialized 'Layback' transmission that moves the motor 6mm more rearward, optimizing it for low-grip dirt and wet astro tracks. The LD3D's updated motor mount, smaller idler gear, RF (Rear Front) alloy strap, gear shield, and rear hub with inserts all combine to greatly increase rear grip and allow the rear end to follow the front end effortlessly. Additionally, it includes longer rear CVD driveshafts measuring 69.5mm, -2.00mm rear hex, yellow wheels, and wide 2WD front wheels. Just finished the build and went for a quick test run. Its a very well designed buggy, typical Schumacher world class quality. Some elements of note: the kit comes with all the adjustment inserts you will need to effect various major setup changes you may finally need, while aftermarket options are available I have always found the supplied elements to be more than enough. The good news is you don't need to source very much separately if you are worried about that. Some things like the springs for the shocks and what not will need to be sourced separately but the setup out of box is very nice and not leaving me feeling like I need to seek that out. Durability of this vehicle is the best I have seen in many prior products from this or indeed many other companies (having built many over the years). The caster blocks/bearing carriers fell amazingly beefy and the overall quality of the parts is enough to keep me from buying the alloy upgrades, you wont need them (its a bling thing in the case of this kit). My final feeling: if you're on the fence give this one a try, if you are at a track with loose dirt this will fell right at home.
