While a fun, relatively quick Touring car this may be, it is not without flaw. The tape on the ESC was very poor, causing it to come loose on the very first run. The servo is also painfully slow for what this is, especially compared to the servos on the RTR Spyder stuff, as well as their RTR truggy. I wonder how this would compare to the other RTR touring cars they offer. Despite the flaws, it's still significantly better than many touring cars in this price bracket.

The only problem with my new Serpent X20 RTR is...a part was omitted that kept the front belt from slipping off the center pulley. A Main has been helpful for sure, especially Bryan P...thank you.

Very nice quality for an RTR. CARBON fiber chassis and belt drive is smooth. Now the servo…. I am been in R/c for 30 years and this is the slowest servo known to man. Wow it’s slow. Used to have the S411 RTR but this is much better. Too bad in 2011 they joined with chinese investors because pre 2011 serpent would not allow this servo to go through for market. Maybe at the arcade CLAW grabber as a servo..

What reviewers say

Three verified owners rated the Serpent Medius X20 RTR touring car 4 or 5 out of 5. Reviewers praise its quality for an RTR, its speed and handling as a touring car, and its smooth carbon fiber chassis and belt drive. The most frequent complaint is the steering servo, described by two reviewers as very slow. Other issues mentioned are a poorly adhering ESC tape that came loose on the first run and a missing part that let the front belt slip off the center pulley; one reviewer said a parts-team member resolved the belt issue. One reviewer compared the car favourably with other RTR touring cars in its price bracket, while another wondered how it compared with the brand's other RTR touring models.

  • + Good build quality for an RTR
  • + Smooth carbon fiber chassis and belt drive
  • + Fun, relatively quick touring car
  • + Strong value for its price bracket
  • − Slow steering servo
  • − Poor ESC tape that loosened on first run
  • − Front belt can slip off center pulley due to omitted part
