High Performance Nitro Racing Kit
The Serpent SRX8 "Cobra" PRO 1/8 Nitro Buggy Kit is an evolution of the SRX8 and the SRX8 Evo, based on Serpents innovative and fast 1/8 SRX8 EVO chassis and designed to bring the driver improved handling on the track. The SRX8 PRO brings the 1/8 buggy to a higher level with more traction, easier to drive and better lap times.
About The SRX8 Pro
Differentials
Significant enhancements have been made to the differentials with a focus on large volume and oversized gears. Although the original differentials of the SRX-8 were reliable and performed well, the evolving standards in the market demand high-quality race cars to feature high-volume, large internal gear differentials. Responding to this, we revisited our approach, completely retooling the differentials. The internal gears now boast an impressive Mod 1.25 size, making them the largest in the market.
Steering Rack
The Steering System has undergone a significant redesign with a Ball Bearing Raced Steering Rack. After testing numerous designs, this updated system contributes to a smoother driving experience or, at the very least, the perception of it. While retaining the same Ackerman plates from the previous models, which were a notable strength, the original SRX-8 steering was reliable, and this redesign maintains that reliability. However, the updated system provides a different feel, offering a more progressive response that instills confidence in driving, especially around the center.
Caster Blocks
The redesigned Inclined Caster blocks, available in 15, 17.5, and 19 degrees, are paired with updated Inclined steering spindles. This combination ensures the preservation of the original Suspension Geometry, maintaining precise track width, scrub offset, and Driveshaft length. These enhanced components contribute to smoother steering, reducing chassis roll into corners for a more stable and smooth driving experience. Additionally, they decrease responsiveness around the center, imparting a more neutral feeling to the car.

Amazing ride and feels really close with the box setup on various track conditions--only made miner tweaks to get it to my liking. I especially love the radio tray layout, and the tooling used to manufacture the car was really good because the fit and finish was perfect. I've ran the Mugen, Associated, TLR, and Tekno, with this one being my personal favorite out of the box.
I've owned this car for awhile now and let me tell you this is the best car I have ever owned the handling on this car is awsome I only use this car to race it jumps great turns corners GREAT HANDLING you won't regret it I strongly recommend this car thank you serpant
I've ran this Chassis (Serpent SRX8-Pro Nitro & Electric) for 2 years now along with my TLR-8X2.0 and Teknos 2.0/2.1/2.2 (Electric and Nitro). The Serpent Buggy handling is on another level. This was designed in 2016! Assembling a Tekno made me suspect that they disassembled an SRX8 and copied so much of its design. Then again that's what Tekno has always done with Traxxas, they would disassemble it and make aluminum parts for it. The Serpent parts feel it's in the $700+ range. The Manual is digital and very clear. The only option part I would recommend is the aluminum steering servo arm. Throttle servo arm is optional.
Build was great. Well done serpent. Drill the inside arms so suspension is free, dremmel the inside of the front arms just a little for the c-hubs Aren’t rubbing on the arm and suspension will be free before mounting shocks. Love serpent
In my opinion the other manufacturers are just catching up with this chassis. Very well built, the lower suspension arms can be a little tight but after first run they break in, or you can sand down the arms. The caster blocks are the strongest I have seen in any c-hub car. 4mm thick chassis just an absolute beast. There are option parts to fine tune the car. The shocks are also a very strong point, don't have to keep rebuilding. This review also for the srx8e pro kit as well. The truck version of these kits are also very stout. No breakages on silly wreaks. Can literally run the chassis into the ground and they eat it up. Very pleased with these kits. Parts can be a little tricky, but Desoto in Florida keeps the basic parts in stock, some option parts will have to be ordered from China " boo" but that's how it is. Serpent's are designed in Germany but produced in China, still having the top notch parts..
