About this part

The Spektrum RC 4S Smart G2 LiPo 50C Battery Pack with IC5 Connector provides pilots and drivers with an array of Smart benefits; Not only are charging parameters and performance data stored and uploaded automatically to Smart chargers, but no balance lead is needed — just one easy IC connection.

Smart G2 batteries come from the factory programmed to discharge automatically to a safe storage voltage of 3.90V after 72 hours of inactivity. The benefits include longer battery life, better performance over the life of the pack, and the peace of mind that comes from knowing your Smart battery is maintenance-free. You can change the battery's Auto Storage settings based on your own preferences. G2 batteries also offer a storage discharge rate that's three times faster than the previous G1 Smart batteries.

Enjoy the Smart Battery advantage of not having to set your own charging preferences. When a Smart G2 LiPo battery is connected to a Spektrum Smart charger, its unique charging parameters and health information upload to the charger from the battery's integrated memory microchip. Through the charger you can view and set preferences such as charge rates, so all that's required to charge the pack is connecting it to your Smart charger. That's the Smart Battery Advantage!

Note: G2 batteries require the use of a Spektrum™ G2 Smart Charger or earlier Smart Charger with G2 update.

  • Simpler and safer to use
  • Balance charge through the IC3® or IC5® connector data wire — with only one connection, no balance lead required

  • Thicker internal metal side plates protect cells and improve heat dissipation
  • Integrated microchip stores unique parameters for each battery

Wattana PoboonruengVerified owneron Spektrum RC 4S Smart G2 LiPo 50C Battery Pack (14.8V/5000mAh)

If you’ve used the gen1 batteries then it’s pretty much the same thing. Don’t really notice a difference in performance but the ease of use and reliability is top notch. The battery is pretty much dummy proof with a spektrum smart charger. If your still rocking the gen 1 smart charger pick up the adapter to update it and you’ll be able to use these gen 2 batteries. Yes, you can pick up cheaper batteries, but you are paying for the convenience. Not having to worry about storage charge and balance leads is nice. I like that I can just fully charge all of them and forget it. It’ll self discharge after my setting of 72h, having to discharge lipos via charger takes forever. The extra perks of checking your battery health and history is nifty perk. If your starting to get into horizon hobby products then start out with 8S smart charger bundle and go from there.

I love these smart batteries. These Spektrum batteries are all I buy. Takes all the guess work out of charging. I got these for a Losi DBXLe 2.0

Very satisfied, from quality to performance. So far, so good.
