You would think for bashing it would have a hard case????
my local shop warned me about these when I was going to buy another one and sold me the prior "dumb" model that still has a balance lead. That was very good advice as THAT battery still works fine. This one no longer registers with my Spektrum S2100 Smart Charger at all. It has been run maybe half a dozen times. Now it's a very expensive brick. Ultimately I plan to get all of the Spektrum guts out of my Arrma anyway but these cost an awful lot of money to just ghost you after a few uses. [ edit: Amain provided exceptional customer service regarding the issue, battery still sucks ;) ]
I love this battery for my Typhon 6S, and no that I just got a Talion, and also have a Felony, I needed a 2nd one. The first battery has over 65 cycles on it according to my smart battery checker, and still going strong. I make sure to never charge it hot, and when I'm done, always put it away with a proper storage charge. While I realize that all examples may not be the same, I have nothing but good things to say about this battery! I haven't done the math, but I'm sure I've saved tons over the cost of nitro to get 65+ runs out of it. I HIGHLY recommend this battery! I will add though, that I do wish Spektrum would make this battery in a hard case version.
The battery was great....What I would like to see though is if You have points available...it ask if you want to use them...I never remember about the points until I already order....and then the points expire...Points shouldn't be so tricky to use!! I'm a fan of AMAIN Hobbies!! please don't change that!!
Reviewers agree the 22.2V/5000mAh 6S battery performs well for most users, with one reviewer reporting over 65 cycles on a first pack and praising its storage and charging care. Reviewers also note that the pack lacks a hard case, which one bashing-focused buyer and another reviewer both mention as a wish. One verified owner reports the battery stopped registering with a Spektrum S2100 charger after about six runs and was replaced through customer service, with a follow-up stating the replacement still performed poorly. This reviewer compared it unfavourably to an older model with a balance lead that still worked. A separate review concerns the retailer's rewards points prompt at checkout rather than the battery itself. Overall reviewer sentiment is positive, though the sample is small and failure reports conflict with long-life reports.
- + Long cycle life reported by one owner
- + Good performance for regular use
- + Handles charging and storage well when cared for
- − No hard case option
- − Reported failure after few runs in one case
- − Replacement battery reportedly still poor
