Installed into an Armma Granite 4x4 MEGA 550. This kit is a direct drop-in that doesn't need to be programmed as long as you are using a Spektrum receiver. I am using the stock Pinion gear to ensure no overheating. This upgrade adds much-needed top-end an granite. The ESC has the same mounts as the original esc so you can screw it right down no tape needed. I am running with 2s 30c lipos and it does great. I would not recommend going anymore than a 14 or 17t pinion on this setup. Overall for $100, this is a very inexpensive upgrade that added much-needed life to my brushed truck.
Got this is the Father's Day gift put in my infraction mega hitting 50 mph no problem on 2s can't wait to try 3s don't hesitate to buy I put three battery packs through it so far and it's loving it does not get hot little warm I'll keep you guys posted
Building a Tamiya VW bug and this fit perfectly, easy to program the esc for my needs highy recommend this motor for your 1/10 RC
What a price !!! Absolutely insane power and incredibly easy install. Spectrum does a great job with this setup. If you have a need for speed this baby does the job at a fantastic price. Thanks Amain another winner.
I got this unit for installation in a Kyosho Fazer roller. Running a Spektrum 3S, 5,000 Mah, 50C pack through it, and holy MOLY!! This thing RIPS!! Only reason for 4 stars is I REALLY wish it was censored. With a 37 tooth pinion gear on it, it stays pretty cool, however, the 'slowest' it'll go is about 11-12 MPH lol Now, Idunno if this is a 'new thing', but I did notice not all my cars do this, but this one does, if you're cruising along, and hit the brakes, and then hit them again, most cars get thrown in to reverse while still going forward, seriously annoying, not to mention murder on your drive train, but this unit seems to know it's still going forward, and won't do that. You can hit the brakes a bunch of times which is really nice for track driving. All in all, a great package, and for the $$, C'mon, you just CAN'T beat it! If you don't mind the weird bottom end behavior, you NEED this setup! Not much in the way of cogging either. Car's completely overpowered and I'm getting upwards of 25-30 minute run times to boot! I'm guessing it's not working very hard to push that small car around the way it does. TONS of fun! GET ONE! (Also, speeds up to 60 MPH)
Reviewers largely praise this 85A sensorless brushless ESC and 3300Kv motor combo for strong acceleration and value, with several installs reported in Arrma Infraction and Granite, Kyosho Fazer, Tamiya and other platforms. Most describe a direct, easy fit and use with Spektrum receivers and 2S or 3S LiPo packs. Temperatures are generally reported as acceptable with modest pinion gearing (around 14 to 37 tooth, or 57/15 spur-pinion ratio), while higher gearing (50/20) was reported to run hot and cog. One reviewer found the throttle slowed to around 11 to 12 MPH and noted a braking behaviour they liked. One reviewer reported a broken stock pot-metal pinion and a stripped plastic spur after an overly tight slipper. Some expected more speed, and one wished for a sensored or censored option. Several reviews concern shipping or are brief, so the evidence is…
- + Strong acceleration and top speed
- + Value for the price
- + Direct, easy installation
- + Runs cool with modest gearing
- − Runs hot and cogs at high gearing
- − Stock pot-metal pinion can break
- − Some expected more speed
- − Low-speed throttle floor reported
