About this part

Spektrum SR215 2-Channel DSMR Sport Surface Receiver is built around frequency-agile DSMR technology. The SR215 receiver delivers superb range and response, especially in noisy RF environments where a solid 2.4GHz link is crucial. Not only is the 2.4ghz link solid, this model also implements our lightning fast 5.5ms frame rate, providing a quicker , low-latency connection for the pro-level enthusiast.

The SR215 also features a modern case design that is small, streamlined, and ready for nearly any RC application. The case also features added antenna support and an integrated antenna tube slot for seamlessly easy installation.

No more bind plugs! Instead, an easy-to-use bind button is used to enter the bind mode. Plus, while binding, you have the choice of SmartSafe™ as well as preset ‘Gas’ failsafe options. All combined, Spektrum gives drivers more features in an affordable receiver, so you can drive with confidence.

Compact Design
The SR215 is capable of being placed in very small and tight builds. Unnecessary angles were eliminated to streamline the receiver casing and to make installation easier than ever before. The case also features added antenna support and an integrated antenna tube slot for those custom models that do not provide a route for the antenna installation.

Bind Button
Updated technology eliminates the need for the old bind plug. With The SR215 a top-located button makes binding more convenient than ever while two bind-sequence options make the process simpler by allowing you to bind while powering up or after receiver power is connected.

Gas Mode Failsafe
Built into The SR215 is Spektrum's failsafe mode for surface applications, Gas Mode Failsafe. Easily selectable during binding, Gas Mode allows users to preset the failsafe position of all available channels. Additionally drivers can utilize SmartSafe ™ failsafe which drops throttle to the lowest point and holds the last known command on the rest of the available channels.

Features:

  • Streamlined design in a compact and lightweight hard-case
  • Bind-button eliminates the need for a bind plug
  • SmartSafe™ Failsafe and Preset "Gas Mode" Failsafe options
  • Outstanding range and 5.5ms capable DSMR technology
  • Ideal for nearly any surface RC model

Very quickly bind using the button. The new design with the antenna up. Works with old spectrum dx3s. Requires protection from water, it is necessary to cover with varnish.

Just a side note, I grabbed a SLT3 transmitter and tried to bind, and to my surprise it did, exactly the same as the sr315 “dual protocol”. Not sure if this works with all, but cool nonetheless.

So far, so good. This receiver is replacing my older Futaba crystal style receiver. It was time for my Tamiya touring car to get an up-to-date one. This is very convenient with how the Spektrum receivers are able to be used with only one Spektrum transmitter. I recommend this item for any person with multiple remote control vehicles.

Tiny footprint with all the speed benefits the Spektrum systems offer. Good for racing with a y-harness used to split power to fan and transponder. No issues providing the needed power to these plus high speed/high torque servo. Might not look as cool as the antenna-less option but it’s 1/3 the price.

Awesome receiver. You don’t have to worry about a bind plug anymore! Can’t beat it for the price.

What reviewers say

Reviewers consistently rate the SR215 highly, with most giving five stars. They describe it as a small, easy-to-bind 2-channel DSMR receiver that works with a bind button rather than a bind plug, and several note it suits multiple vehicles and common setups such as splitting power to a fan or transponder. One reviewer reports it also binds to an SLT3 transmitter, and another says it works with an older DX3S. Recurring points are the antenna, which one reviewer would prefer removed, a reported shorter-than-desired reception distance from one owner, and a suggestion that the price could be lower. One reviewer advises waterproofing with varnish. Reviews appear to refer to the standard antenna variant.

  • + Small, compact footprint
  • + Easy binding via button, no bind plug
  • + Works well across scales and vehicle types
  • + Good value for the price
  • − Antenna is visible and some prefer an antenna-less option
  • − One owner reports limited reception distance
  • − Recommended to protect from water with varnish
