About the RC M4 Sherman 105mm Howitzer Tank
Authentic WWII Heritage
The Tamiya 1/16 M4 Sherman 105mm Howitzer R/C Tank captures the spirit and engineering of one of WWII’s most iconic armored vehicles. Modeled after the late-production fire support variant, it features the distinctive 105mm howitzer, famously used to engage fortified positions and support advancing infantry across both European and Pacific theaters. The tank’s HVSS suspension and accurately detailed hull construction mirror the real Sherman’s rugged battlefield presence.
Mechanical Steering Precision
Equipped with a realistic mechanical steering system, this RC tank replicates the Sherman’s Cletrac-controlled differential setup. A Type 540 motor drives the system while servo-activated brake discs slow one track to initiate turns, recreating the tank's smooth, brake-free steering without power loss. This setup ensures authentic maneuvering with simplified operation through a standard wheel-type transmitter.
Durable Metal Build
Key structural and drivetrain components such as the drive sprockets, suspension arms, and idler wheelbases are crafted from metal, delivering exceptional durability and long-term performance. The HVSS suspension uses real metal coil springs, while pre-assembled tracks with metal pins and connectors ensure reliability even during rigorous driving sessions over varied terrain.
Full Function Control
Tamiya includes an ESC and full ball bearings for smooth throttle and steering response. With its historically accurate design, mechanically sophisticated drivetrain, and rugged construction, this tank is more than just a scale model—it's a fully functional tribute to a battlefield legend. Perfect for collectors and RC enthusiasts alike, it’s a standout in both performance and realism.
