Brian Dollon Tamiya Holiday Buggy 2010 DT-02 1/10 2WD Off-Road Buggy Kit

This is one of the best first RC’s for a beginner. No need to paint. Fully upgradable. Simple build. Great fun driver especially on a baseball diamond.

This is one of the best first buggies to build-especially if you want to eventually upgrade it. The DT02 platform has quite an array of available hop up parts to create your own Super Buggy. Easy to assemble-you can do it in one evening if you wish. The 380 will be okay for a beginner-but you will go up to a 540 after a while. Some CVA oil shocks and you're ready to go. The stock pogo stick shocks are okay-like the 380 motor-but you will definitely upgrade. Overall, a great first buggy that you will keep running for a long time.

What reviewers say

All three reviewers rate the Tamiya Holiday Buggy 2010 DT-02 kit 5/5. Two reviews describe it as a strong first RC buggy: simple, quick to assemble (one evening, per one reviewer), and needing no painting. Reviewers note it is fully upgradable and has many available hop-up parts. The stock 380 motor and pogo stick shocks are described as adequate for a beginner, with the expectation that owners will later move to a 540 motor and oil shocks. One review focuses on shipping and packaging rather than the product itself. Reviews are few and short, so the evidence base is limited.

  • + Simple, quick build
  • + No painting needed
  • + Fully upgradable with many hop-up parts
  • + Good first buggy for beginners
  • − Stock 380 motor considered basic
  • − Stock pogo stick shocks considered weak
  • − Upgrades expected soon after purchase
