About this part

This is a 100ml can of Tamiya PS-29 Fluorescent Pink Lexan Spray Paint. These spray paints were developed especially for decorating transparent polycarbonate bodies used in R/C car modeling. Each can contains 100ml (3oz) of paint, which is the appropriate amount for finishing one 1/10 scale model.

Painting polycarbonate bodies is done from the inside of the body shell as opposed to the outside of a traditional plastic model. When spraying body from the inside, keep the can about 30cm from the surface. After curing apply another coat as necessary. These paints are impervious to oil and fuels, so they can be safely used on gas-powered R/C bodies.

Warning: Never use these paints on plastic models.

i use the pink flourecent paint.. works great and looks just as good.. since finding this color its used on most of my bodies...i love it and it stands out on the track, you cant not notice the pink short course truck..... definatley use on a warm clean lexan body and spray lightly, it will pool if not careful...

I haven't used the pink paint but the fluorescent Orange is good, fluorescent colors are not for beginners however. It is a very thin paint and if you take your time you can get a perfect paint job. a tip on fluorescent colors is to spay very little bit (mist the area you want painted) let it dry and mist again repeat this until you have it covered, use short blasts, don't just hold the nozzle down because it will pool up. Once the area is covered and dried spray over it with the fluorescent backing (white) and you will have a bright paint job. DO NOT BACK WITH A DARK COLOR!! I hope this is helpful.

What reviewers say

Reviewers generally rate this Tamiya fluorescent pink Lexan spray highly, with three of four reviews giving five stars and praising its vivid color, especially when backed with white. Application advice is a recurring theme: spray light, short bursts, and build coverage in thin mist coats to avoid pooling. One reviewer gave one star, reporting uneven spraying and pooling, which conflicts with the more favourable accounts. One review discusses a fluorescent orange variant rather than the pink, and one reviewer had not used the pink itself.

  • + Vivid, bright fluorescent color
  • + Stands out on the track
  • + Looks good when backed with white
  • − Pools easily if sprayed heavily
  • − Uneven spray reported by one reviewer
  • − Not beginner-friendly
