Tamiya has developed this Torque-Tuned motor, which offers performance that is between that of a standard Type 540 motor and Item 53068 Sport-Tuned Motor. Compared to a standard Type 540 motor, it offers a higher top speed and improved acceleration when used with RC car models with standard gear ratios.

Great motor for the price. Pairs well with the included electronics and gearing in most Tamiya kits. A nice way to get a little more speed without over motoring a kit. Not everything needs brushless and 50mph.

This is the fastest motor that will work with the Tamiya TEU-105BK ESC, which comes with the Tamiya X-SA series builds. Installed it in my Midnight Pumpkin and it hit 18mph! Box stock with bushings: 14mph Ball bearings: 15mph Ball bearings and the Torque Tuned motor: 17mph Ball bearings, Torque Tuned motor, and LiHV battery: 18mph
