About this part

This Tamiya 100ml TS-6 Matte Black Lacquer Spray Paint is a synthetic lacquer that cures in a short period of time. The spray paint is extremely useful for painting large model surfaces. Tamiya spray paints are not affected by acrylic or enamel paints. Therefore, following the painting of the entire assembly, details can be added or picked out using enamel and/or acrylic paints. Each can contains 100ml of paint, which is enough to fully cover 2 or 3, 1/24 scale sized car model bodies.

NOTE: TAMIYA TS paint is not designed to be used with clear Polycarbonate/LEXAN R/C body shells. The paint will flake off. For Polycarbonate applications please use Tamiya PS spray paint.

Tamiya has great colors and great quality paint. Just be sure not to use this on Lexan as it will not stick permanently! It will chip off as soon as the Lexan takes a few bumps or hits.

Good color and finish. I used it to paint details and tops on model jeep wranglers

Steve DesotellVerified owneron Tamiya TS-6 Matte Black Lacquer Spray Paint (100ml)

I’ve been building rc cars for 20 years and I’ve never been disappointed in paint, but It started chipping after the first run.... maybe it was a bad batch or something

What reviewers say

Reviewers generally praise the colour and finish of this matte black lacquer, with two of three ratings at 5/5 and one owner noting good results on model jeep details and tops. The main recurring problem is poor adhesion: one reviewer warns it does not stick permanently to Lexan and chips after bumps, and a 1/5 reviewer reports chipping after the first run, possibly due to a bad batch. Reviews are few in number, so the overall picture is limited.
