build went fine put bearings in different motor only big deal was cutting out and installing decals

Daniel Nielsenon Tamiya TT-02 Porsche 911 GT3 (992) 1/10 4WD Electric Touring Car Kit

This was my second kit that I've ever built. It was not hard at all. The only pain is cutting out the decals. I have had the car for about 3 years now and I am very happy with it. I actually just put a 3s brushless system in it yesterday. The fun has now tripled!

Super easy kit to build and I highly recommend this kit to anyone! Don't forget to order the bearing kit.

I thought I had ordered the painted body kit but received unpainted version. Need to wait til spring happens to paint.. Not a fan of their chassis kits as the plastic feels toyish cheap. Battery tray only fits specific type battery vs standard shaped lipos. Best thing for me about Tamiya is that they have the most different types of bodies available.

The tamiya Porchse 911 is not a bad first build, but the only problems are that the servo setup it iffy bug all in all the car runs good when built it don’t go too fast maybe about 15 20 with the brushed motor it comes with bug when you get the brushless upgrade I recommend the hobbywing quick run combo it goes fast you just need a good radio I personally use sanwa other than that good car I would recommend going aluminum shaft and others.

What reviewers say

Reviewers generally find the Tamiya TT-02 Porsche 911 GT3 (992) kit straightforward to build and good value, with several noting it suits spec TT02 racing at local tracks. The most consistent complaint is the tedious cutting out of decals. Other points were mixed: one reviewer said the bearings were installed in a different motor, one thought the chassis plastic feels cheap, one noted the battery tray only fits specific battery shapes rather than standard lipos, and one reported receiving an unpainted body instead of the painted one ordered. One reviewer described servo setup as fiddly and recommended a bearing and aluminum shaft upgrade, and another said the included brushed motor is slow and suggested a brushless upgrade. Reviews are all for the same kit variant.

  • + Easy, straightforward build
  • + Good value for the price
  • + Fun to drive and suited to spec TT02 racing
  • + Wide range of body options
  • − Decal cutting is tedious
