The Tamiya WR-02CB Comical Hornet revives the iconic 1980s Hornet in a playful, modern design. It keeps the spirit of the original while adding a comical body, updated driver figure, and improved off-road styling for a fun and nostalgic build experience.
Versatile Terrain Handling
Built on the WR-02CB chassis, this buggy delivers smooth and stable handling on a variety of surfaces. Long suspension arms, 4-wheel double wishbone setup, and CVA oil-filled shocks give it strong off-road capability and excellent bump absorption.
Wheelie Ready Fun
A rear wheelie bar and rear-biased power delivery make controlled wheelies easy and consistent. The chassis design and torque-friendly gearing (18.3:1 internal ratio) help the model lift the front wheels while still maintaining forward stability and drive.
Convenient Build Experience
The kit includes a pre-installed 540 brushed motor and Tamiya TBLE-02S ESC supporting brushed and sensorless brushless setups. Pre-assembled gearbox components reduce build complexity, while durable ABS wheels, LED-ready headlight cases, and included driver figure complete the package.

Excellent Tamiya kit to build and have fun with. Love these Comical buggies.
This is the second Tamiya RC vehicle I've purchased-built in the last couple of years. The first was an on road car, the second the off-road Comical Hornet. Before building both I purchased ball bearings to replace the plastics ones in the kits Tamiya kits are excellent; the plastic parts are expertly made, identified and packaged. The hardware is first class and well packaged. The instructions are well written with many picture-diagrams to aid in the construction and there is a large sheet of great decals. I give the Tamiya Comical Hornet kit a five star rating.
