With a metal-gear, high-torque Reedy servo rounding out the electronics package, the Pro2 SC10 is nothing short of a success in RC off-road racing.

I purchased this car from a local hobby shop about 2 years back, intending on running it in Short Course B-Mod, which I’ve done the past 2 seasons. If you’re on the fence on whether to buy this or a slash, buy this!! It already has an lcg chassis, is much cheaper, and is more durable. In the 2 years Ive ran this car, I have yet to break something. This car handles like an absolute dream. Paired with de grooves and a McAllister dagger sc body, it drives laps around the slashes and even some sc6s. Even with the stock reedy it’s fast. Clocked a 7.42 at the local dirt oval, which is competitive for a car with muuuch more than 3300 kv. The time it lost on the straights it more than made up for in the corners, and with some power it drives laps around everyone else. Very good car 10/10
Recieved "new" pro2 sc10. Factory box had already been opened and someone installed all the decals very sloppily. Disgusted! Amain sent a return slip for the body. Great... Just what i want to deal with. Been raining and snowing last 2 weeks in the north east. I havnt been able to try it yet. Who knows what else has been messed with, or broken?!!!
DISCLAIMER: I purchased this truck from a LHS to support my local RC track. This truck is absolutely one of the best ways to get into RC racing on a budget. But you're thinking "340 USD for just the truck?? How is that budget??". Now let me start by saying you're better off with the battery and charger combo for 400, it's a good deal for sure. If you have the intention of getting into racing or you want to spend time at your local track and get the feel for it, this is the RTR for you. A stock slash will not be anywhere near as capable or as fast on track as a stock pro2. The pro2 shares many parts with the higher end SC6 SCT which allows for many upgrade opportunities should you want to get more serious with being competitive in your local race scene. That's not to say this is a bad basher though. I've beat on mine for over a year and have gotten into some sizable crashes with little to no damage at all. A good first upgrade is a set of wheels with tires that other local racers use at your local track. After that, this thing is an absolute beast for sure!
I have to 22S Losi RTRs and I purchased this one as I wanted to try out another brand, Team Associated I took it to my local clay track in my city, it did well and I was impressed with it more than the 22S Losi's. I upgraded its wheels/tires for the following due to the clay track, the vehicle drove even better. Note: I did break, the front end Bulkhead and front arms, as I broke those two during my first time on the track but the reason was is that I hit the wall pretty hard head on, it could have been anything but I have read that TM needs to do more in terms of some of their parts. Oh, i had some rear end axle issues popping out randomly but not all the time it was only once that it occurred since then, no big deal! Overall, i am very pleased with it and i am having a lot of fun with it as in the old days i was an old school RC10 TM person but i am enjoying it and i am not bashing it, i am at my local race track that is clay based! It gets over the jumps rather, easy to dial in, track helped me... other than that i might just upgrade some of the more practical parts. Update: 07/01/2022 - Since having this for sometime now, i have ran through it on a clay track in racing, practice no bashing otherwise, however my only issue i have with it is the body is horrible and i have had to replace it... Other than that it is a solid vehicle.
This is just a total blast to rip around on or off road. I’ve always been a fan of associated s’ stuff.
Reviewers generally rate the Pro2 SC10 RTR highly, with four of five reviews at 5/5. Owners praise its handling and speed on dirt and clay tracks, its value compared with a Slash or 22S, and its upgrade path shared with the SC6. One reviewer reports a 7.42 lap at a local dirt oval with the stock motor. Durability is mixed: one owner broke front bulkhead and arms after a hard wall impact and reported intermittent rear axle popping out, and that owner noted the parts issue. A 1/5 verified review describes a unit with an opened box, sloppy decals and a return for the body, although that reviewer had not yet run the truck. Reviewers do not describe a consistent problem beyond these isolated reports. Several reviews do not mention the variant in detail.
- + Handling and speed on track
- + Value for money versus Slash
- + Upgrade compatibility with SC6 parts
- + Fun to drive on or off road
- − Front bulkhead and arms broke in one crash
- − Intermittent rear axle popping out
- − Sloppy decals and used-looking packaging on one unit
