About this part

The Team Associated RB10 RTR 1/10 Electric 2WD Brushless Buggy Combo includes a Reedy Compact Balance Charger (ASC27201) and Reedy 7.4V 2S LiPo Battery with T-plug (ASC751). This buggy was engineered using Team Associated's vast knowledge and success in the 1:10 scale 2WD racing category. Since the introduction of the RC10 in 1984, the Team Associated RC10 buggy platform has won 13 of the 18 I.F.M.A.R. World Championships contested since the class began. You now have the chance to drive a buggy derived from this race-winning heritage with the beginner-friendly, capable and powerful RB10.

The RB10 buggy roars to life with a water-resistant high-power Reedy brushless speed control, 3300kV brushless motor, a 2.4GHz 2-channel radio system and the Drive Vehicle Control (DVR) receiver with a built in gyro. The DVR system is able to be tuned to different settings that will allow for more or less gyro control. The RB10 is equipped with the Reedy metal-gear, digital high-torque servo, and a water-resistant enclosed receiver box. All of this sits under the outstanding factory-finished off-road buggy body with wing. The RB10 will keep you accelerating and cornering with the included aggressive off-road treaded tires and lightweight 12mm hex wheels.

The RB10 will perform on most surfaces you throw it at, from asphalt to dirt as well as any prepared track surfaces. This buggy makes for a great basher and a good platform to try your skills out on the track.

Great basher, would also be a good way to get into racing for a low cost and without building from a kit. It comes geared pretty conservatively, so it'll get to top speed (or spin the tires) easily. The tires seem to be a harder compound, so they're great for speeding around pavement and to a good degree, carpet. An added plus of the harder tires, they'll lose grip before you can traction roll the car. I've put a handful of runs on pavement and the tires look almost brand new. That said, these tires took a while to get more sticky and break in, and they don't cope well with damp conditions. Weight distribution is rear biased, so it has no problem finding traction in dirt or short grass. All in all, it's been great for speeding around my yard and driveway. The manual also has detailed parts listings and a wealth of information like any Team Associated product, so that made it incredibly easy to find just the right part number and how to install it when I inevitably took a jump just wrong enough to come down on one of the front wheels, nose down, and cracked a suspension arm.

A beginner’s review: added the aluminum gear box and metal gears, changed the gears for max speed and using the built-in gyro, it is a rocket on a dirt oval. Added all the bumpers I could find and threw away the stock tires immediately. The fastest car I have seen on 2S, no kidding, and stable, because of the gyro. We drove it with the stock radio on 60% throttle last season. Now, it is on 100%, and it is insane on 2S. Still cannot dial the SR10M to do what the RB10 does. Started adding gyros to all of our cars. Bro… this car is the best.

I plan on buying Rb10 & B7 using as many parts from the B7 kit. Left front toe in, gos left on the thorodell. coasts to the right. It gives the driver control of the car. Basic dirt oval set up for late model and modified. Note not all parts are compatible after comparing owner manuals; may be buying the upgrades is the better way to go of it?

What reviewers say

Reviewers generally rate the Team Associated RB10 RTR combo highly, describing it as a strong basher and a low-cost entry into racing. One reviewer notes conservative stock gearing that reaches top speed easily, and stock tires that are harder compound, grip well on pavement and fairly on carpet, but need time to break in and perform poorly in damp conditions. Traction in dirt and short grass is described as good, attributed to rear-biased weight distribution. Another reviewer reports a fast, stable result after upgrading gearing and adding a metal gearbox, gears and bumpers, and praises the built-in gyro. A third reviewer's review is harder to follow, mentioning plans to combine RB10 and B7 parts and noting that not all parts are compatible, with a setup-related steering complaint. Reviews are few, and the upgrade-focused feedback reflects modified rather than stock use.

  • + Strong performance as a basher
  • + Good value entry into racing
  • + Stable handling with built-in gyro
  • + Good traction on dirt and short grass
  • − Conservative stock gearing
  • − Stock tires need break-in and struggle in damp conditions
  • − Some parts not compatible with other Team Associated models
  • − Steering setup issue reported
