About this part

Trail-Ready Performance

The RC10 Trail Truck Portal Kit is built for confident off-road adventures, featuring the advanced Stealth® X gearbox with adjustable front-to-rear drive ratios and a rugged Enduro drivetrain for reliable power delivery.

About the RC10 Trail Truck

High-Clearance Portal Axles

This kit features upgraded portal axles that offer nearly an inch more ground clearance than standard straight axles, helpful for navigating rugged terrain. The axles are built with all-metal gears, durable ball bearings, and reinforced gearboxes secured with six screws to handle heavy torque loads. When paired with the Stealth® X transmission, users can achieve optimized underdrive setups for improved control and crawling ability.

Rugged Chassis and Suspension Design

The RC10 Trail Truck’s chassis includes a behind-the-axle (BTA) steering system and aluminum steering plates for improved approach angles and customization. The factory-integrated servo/servo winch mount adds strength and ideal weight distribution. Fluid-filled, anodized aluminum shocks help maintain the vehicle's stability, even on the most challenging trails, making the truck a capable and reliable crawler straight from assembly.

Realistic Styling and Premium Components

Inspired by the classic 1984 RC10 off-road buggy, this trail truck boasts a clear polycarbonate body with molded details and a tribute decal sheet. Functional accessories like roof racks and mirrors enhance realism. For traction and aesthetics, it comes equipped with officially licensed General Grabber™ X3 tires and Method 701 Trail Series beadlock wheels, ensuring both superior grip and authentic scale appearance.

Not a good value. If you're buying this kit based on nostalgia for the original RC10, and you want this truck as a shelf queen then go for it because that's who this kit is aimed at. It certainly is not a practical rc truck for either performance or scale realism. When I built the kit I wanted to "keep it stock", but I couldn't because this kit is a step backward from modern rc trucks and is too expensive for what you get. For example, the balls for the rod ends are white plastic, even though it is standard to have steel balls. The rear axle is the same as the front axle, but with tie rods to keep the knuckles screwed in place. Even though I like the combination of orange and white parts, it I found this truck to be a let down and sadly I wouldn't recommend it at this price. I would suggest that you buy a better quality kit for less money.

Great kit , got the scratch and dent for more off, I trail this daily for the month its been out and its been stellar, nothing short of impressive. that white plastic is worth it. Have tried a few aftermarket parts like links and servo arms but went back to stock. Rc10 is controversial so take any review with a huge grain of salt. Very nice proline Cherokee body as well, painted up nice with proline orange ! Fender well kit is the best available for the enduro !

What reviewers say

Reviewers are divided on this RC10 Trail Truck 4x4 rock crawler kit. One verified owner rates it 2/5, calling it poor value and a step backward from modern RC trucks, citing white plastic rod-end balls where steel is standard, a rear axle identical to the front, and a price considered too high. Two reviews rate it 5/5: one reports stellar daily trail performance and satisfaction with the stock white plastic parts, plus a well-regarded Proline Cherokee body and fender kit; the other notes a need to drill out some holes to fit small screws. Overall the sample is small and the reviews contradict each other on value and build quality.

  • + Strong trail performance reported
  • + Stock white plastic parts satisfactory to some
  • + Proline Cherokee body paints well
  • + Fender well kit praised for enduro use
  • − Rod-end balls are white plastic, not steel
  • − Rear axle same as front, with tie rods
  • − Seen as overpriced for the content
  • − Some holes need drilling for small screws
