All you guys complaining about these awesome axles don't realize you need three mill bearings. Losi part number TLR237001 are the best, they sealed on one side. This will put the centerline of the cardan joint at the kingpin centerline and you have plenty of threads. Stop complaining about things you don't know.

Great axle! Using 5x10x3 bearing addressed the axle length issue!

This driveshaft makes the car feel more active during turns and S-curves. As an example, if there is an immediate jump after a 180-degree turn, then this will give it slightly more power. That said, the threaded length is in my opinion too short for my DE racing rims as well as my X-ray rims so I always worry about losing a wheel during. I use the ultra-thin aluminum nut from Tekno or Yokomo and they barely hold on to the wheel. I hope Associated have a solution for that.

What reviewers say

Reviewers largely agree that the front DCV axles are too short in the threaded section, leaving only about two threads to hold the wheel. Several suggest workarounds: using thin serrated or low-profile wheel nuts, and fitting 3mm or 5x10x3 bearings on the inside to gain thread length. One reviewer reports the axles became unusable after one run and that the manufacturer offered no remedy. Another reviewer, rating the part 4/5, praises improved steering feel but also worries about wheel retention with thin nuts. Reviews also mention a shorter-axle change tied to rules compliance. Opinions on overall performance are mixed, and the criticism is consistent across the reviews.

  • + Improves steering feel and mid-turn response
  • + Works with 3mm or 5x10x3 inside bearings as a fix
  • − Threaded length too short, about two threads
  • − Thin wheel nuts needed to seat wheels
  • − Wheels may loosen, risking wheel loss
