I see lots of people running these even if they don't use a Tekin esc. Mine is only 1 year old, but it's had zero problems.
Rotor failure after 1 season of racing. The rotor failed in a way that also damaged the can. No aggressive gearing, or excessive heat. This is my second motor failure with Tekin. My 2050 had rotor failure where the bonding agent failed between the rotor and motor shaft. Also had their ESC fail on me after less than a season. Go with hobbywing. Haven’t had a single issue since.
I've been using the same motor since 15 years. It is a soft, powerful, and durable motor. On the circuit, 1900 kv seems appropriate for fever. It will continue to be used. add 2023.9.22. I bought a Tekin motor again..The trust in Amaine Harvey's products is the best..Softness on the circuit is no match for other motors..However, the acrylic case has been damaged continuously..There are some scratches on the outside of the motor. Other than that, I'm satisfied..I also buy another dam.
Just awesome... never had one till now. But those Gen3 motor by Tekin has all the power any Truggy or Buggy could need for any Rc Track. Doesn’t get hot fast & really has a powerful punch. Thank you Tekin
Awesome for 1/8 Ebuggy. Have it with the HW XR8PLUS and works great! Adam Drake uses the same motor.
Reviewers generally rate this 1/8 buggy motor highly, praising its power, smooth delivery, and low heat under racing use. Several owners report trouble-free operation over a year or more, and one notes the 1900kV rating suits their track. One reviewer reports a rotor failure after a single racing season that damaged the can, and cites earlier rotor and ESC failures on other Tekin products, recommending a competing brand instead. One owner mentions scratches on the motor casing. Reviews are few and mixed on durability, with most positive experiences but one notable failure report.
- + Strong power and punch
- + Runs cool under use
- + Smooth, soft throttle response
- + Trouble-free for many owners
- − Rotor failure after one season (one report)
- − Casing scratches reported
- − Prior Tekin rotor and ESC failures cited by one reviewer
