The changes Tekin advertised are legit for this product. I replaced a Gen 2 2000kV Tekin T8 with this new Gen3 version about a week ago. After two runs the improvements are more than noticeable. This motor is smoother from from the first trigger squeeze all the way to full throttle. Same goes for braking. Where I noticed a difference is in horseshoe turns and 180s. I thought the oversteer I was getting on corner exit was set-up instead of motor. Additionally, this motor runs cooler than the previous generation. My temps never got above 128 degrees after runs that took my ProTek 6500mAh HV 4S pack to LVC.
The Tekin T8 Gen 3 2000kV truggy motor is nice and smooth. It has gobs of tork which helps you power out of corners and great top end so you can romp down the straight aways. The power is smooth and predictable to help keep you under control all the way around the track. I really like this motor. Two thumbs up!
In my opinion the perfect motor for a 1/8 truggy not too much power just right I use a 15tooth pinion but lately been trying a 16tooth pinion this is my second motor and both have been running great
Awesome motor has lots of power and well worth the price it’s behind the rx8 esc
put this in my Mugen Truggy, seems awesome so far, tons of power!
All five reviewers are verified owners who rate this 2000kV 1/8 truggy motor 5/5. Reviewers consistently describe it as smooth and predictable from low throttle to full throttle, with strong torque for corner exit and good top speed. One owner who upgraded from the Gen 2 2000kV reports better smoothness, braking, and handling in horseshoe turns and 180s, plus lower operating temperatures (peaking around 128 degrees after runs to low-voltage cutoff on a 4S pack). Others mention ample power and good value, and one installed it in a Mugen truggy. Reviews are brief and positive, with no recurring problems reported, though the sample is small and mostly short after-purchase impressions.
- + Smooth, predictable power delivery
- + Strong low-end torque for corner exit
- + Good top-end speed
- + Improved braking and running temperatures versus Gen 2
- − No drawbacks reported
- − Small sample of short reviews
