I bought this RX4 and connected it to a ROC412 3000KV motor and a 3S lipo battery. I also connected a hotwire 3 box to it. So far i like my mamba x better for low speed control. Using the same motor i cant get the low speed start up to be as smooth as the Mamba X. This ESC seems like it would be better for bashing than crawling.
Great ESC! Previously had a castle mamba x (horrible esc) and then it burnt out at axialfest. Bought my RX4 and couldn't be happier
Finally finished a TF2 with my r 4. Worth the money and more. With the Hotwire 3.0, program if was too easy. Took it out in our first descent snow, no fender wells, the entire chassis was layered in anout 3 in his of snow by the end. Rx4 with a sensors roc 412 was just fine. Even after I let it dry over warm air and water drained all over it it was just fine. Won’t put anything else in my future off road projects.
I put this plus a ROC412HD 1800KV motor into my heavily modified TRX-4, and the performance is awesome. It's just like the 3 RX8 Gen 3's that I have in my Tekno rigs, only it's a sweet crawling setup...
So far so good. Only been a week but it is great especially with the Hotwire. Easy to use and understand. No issues. Thanks again Tekin for a great product and support. Thank you to Amainhobbys for their great service and support also they are very helpful and friendly.
Reviewers generally rate the Tekin RX4 highly, with most giving five stars. Owners describe it as easy to use, durable and waterproof, and several praise its pairing with the Hotwire programming box and phone tuning. Reported setups include ROC412 motors in TRX-4 and Yeti crawlers. One reviewer, using a 3000KV ROC412 with a Hotwire 3 on a 3S battery, found low-speed startup less smooth than a Castle Mamba X and felt the unit suited bashing better than crawling. Another noted the lack of a drag brake. Most reviews describe long-term use without issues.
- + Easy to use and program
- + Waterproof, handled snow and water exposure
- + Strong performance in crawlers
- + Works well with Hotwire tuning
- − Low-speed startup less smooth in one setup
- − No drag brake
- − Felt better suited to bashing by one reviewer
