This combo is a beast in my Tekno ET48.3 running mostly Protek Graphene 6500mah 4s LiHV batteries. I do run the Protek 6s LiHV and a Gens Ace 6s from time to time and its completely nuts with those. The ESC is small and fits perfectly in the small Tekno ESC tray. I picked up a second combo when I got my TLR 8ight-XTE a few months back and same thing, couldnt ask for a better setup. I have 6 of the RX8/buggy motor combos in all of my 1/8 E-buggies and they are all awesome too. 3 are the 1900kv and 3 are the 2650kv. Ive tried a couple other popular brands but every time Ive ended up replacing them with these Tekin setups after only a couple packs. The bluetooth programmer is great too, just remember to remove it before hitting the track. I forgot once and shredded the wire off as it went flying out of my rig. I was able to repair it though and its still working great too.
Purchased many things from Amain hobbies , everything has been great , fast delivery , good service , the TEKIN set up is the fastest truck I have , unbelievable , one thing I need is , the tekno et410 I purchased did not have the battery tray screws , they are a rare size , can't find them anywhere , can u help , great company thank u ! Much ! I heard one of the founders of your company is from where I live ,Spokane Washington Hank Perry race track
The time it lasted it was a great esc, it lasted only 1 race night, the next race it started acting weird by cutting on and off then just completely shut off. It was great for the couple minutes that it lasted.
This was a replacement from the last Tekin RX8 I bought from Amain and this one only lasted for one race night. The next race night it immediately started acting weird, then smoked. These are getting too expensive to be replacing every month.
I was in need of a buggy motor but mistake I have order a truggy motor combo kit. The motor is too big to install in my kiyosho MP10 which I brought at same . Time
Reviewers generally praise the combo's power, smooth throttle response, light weight and fit in 1/8 buggies such as the Tekno ET48 and TLR 8ight-XTE, with one owner reporting long-term use with 4S and 6S LiHV packs. Several verified owners report ESC failures after one to three runs, including flashing error lights and smoke, and one reviewer describes replacing units repeatedly. Other reviewers attribute low ratings to operator error or ordering the wrong kit, and one buyer found the truggy motor too large for a buggy chassis. Service and delivery from the seller were mentioned favourably. Reviews are mixed, with reliability of the ESC the main point of disagreement.
- + Strong power and smooth throttle response
- + Lightweight
- + Fits small ESC trays in 1/8 buggies
- + Responsive customer service
- − ESC failures after a few runs in several reports
- − Motor too large for some chassis (Kyosho MP10)
- − Replacement units also reported failing
- − Ordering the wrong variant led to confusion
