The above comment is half correct. DO NOT use lock tite as the screws are inside the hex and have no way to back out while in use. If you have any problems with the 1.5 hex driver. Try a 1/16th" as it is slightly larger. I stripped a screw. I used a small flat head screw driver in behind the hex and popped it off. Still works great. just have to click them on like stock if they strip! NO MORE STRIPPED HEX'S!
If you talk to the fine folks at Tekno, they will tell you that this is the only upgrade you need for the truck. They are right. It is a must-have part as the plastic hubs last about one run.
I have now destroyed two sets of this as my wheel has falled out and stripped this hexes. Is the anodizing not good or is aluminium hexes always destroyed by plastic if the wheel gets loose?
THIS THING IS A MUST, NO MORE LOOSING WHEELS GREAT UPGRADE
Way better than stock eb410 hex. Even DE racing wheels fits perfectly.
Reviewers largely praise these aluminum clamping hexes as an upgrade over the stock plastic hubs, citing better fit for aftermarket wheels such as DE Racing and fewer lost or stripped wheels. Several note the 1.5mm clamping screw strips easily, and some advise against thread-locker since the screw is hard to back out. One reviewer reported the hexes cracked or stripped after a wheel came loose, and another attributed stripped wheel hubs to the hub design and switched to Tekno's newer hex hubs. Experiences with wheel fit and durability vary, and a few reviews mention the screw issue more than the hex itself.
