I STRONGLY prefer this cable over the Trinity options, for the main reason being the universal plug design, which is MUCH safer than the other designs on the market. The plugs on this cable start out as 4mm, and then taper larger to 5mm to accommodate both sizes on the battery end, which means that during use, there are no exposed unused plugs. On the trinity cable, the 4mm and 5mm plugs are opposite each other, meaning whichever end you don't use, will be standing straight up when you plug your battery in, and will be both exposed, and live with power. One mishandled wrench or tool that falls onto the battery during charging, or accidentally touching both terminals with a metal watch band could lead to a VERY bad situation. This cable from TQ is well designed, flexible, and well built. With proper use, it should last a lifetime.
So far so good with it. The 90 degree ends for the charger side aren’t my favorite.
I don’t think I would buy these again. What they don’t describe is how long the 4mm portion is. What I have run into is the batteries are to short to be charged in car. I put pucks in bottom of batters to be certain I don’t short out batteries. What would be better is just buy a 4mm cable ends and buy the $4 adapters. Would be less hassle of a design.
This product is great! No messing with different connectors when using 4 or 5mm inboard batteries. Just plug right into your charger and/or balance board.
Very good quality. Allows me to charge both 4mm and 5mm batteries.
Reviewers generally rate this 2S charge cable well, with most praising its universal 4mm and 5mm plug design that lets one cable charge both battery connector sizes without swapping connectors. One reviewer compares it favourably with a competing cable whose 4mm and 5mm plugs sit opposite each other, arguing the tapered design leaves no exposed unused plug. Another praises the build quality and a tidier pit area. Criticism is limited: one reviewer dislikes the 90-degree charger-side ends, and one says the 4mm portion is too short for batteries to charge in a car without extra spacers, suggesting separate 4mm ends with adapters would be simpler. Ratings are mostly 5/5, with one 4/5 and one 3/5.
