don't waste your money, loud whining right out of box. completely failed in 10 minutes
Great upgrade on my Stampede XL5 2WD. Super easy to install and instantly better handling. Took some time to get used to controlling my truck again because it is so much faster responding to turns. Highly recommended.
This is a pretty standard RTR servo. Has more power than needed for on road applications, but it’s horribly underpowered for a heavy TRX-4. That being said, it is useful for rear steer in my TRX-4. When I swapped the front servo to an EcoPower WP250T, I put this servo on the rear axle and it has survived much water and lots of strain.
This is okay in a TRX4 Sport without brass weight. The servo horn needs to be upgraded to steel. That said I upgraded my TRX4 sport servo because I added alot of weight to the truck.. I ended up using the traxxas servo in my Losi Lasernut. It's still working and has twice the power of the losi.
When I got my TRX-4 this was the stock servo gave out after about 2 hours of use. I replaced it with the same thing because I was under warranty and it was free. The same thing happened. So I just replaced it with a low end savox that worked much better without burning a hole in my pocket. The savox servo has lasted nearly 2 years.
Reviewers report mixed experiences with this waterproof metal-gear digital servo. Two reviews describe early failure, including loud whining and a unit that gave out after about two hours, with one owner replacing it under warranty and seeing the same problem. A 5/5 reviewer found it an easy install that improved responsiveness in a Stampede XL5 2WD. Mid-range reviews say it is adequate for on-road use but underpowered for a heavy TRX-4, and recommend upgrading the servo horn to steel. One owner reports it has survived water and strain on a TRX-4 rear axle, and another reports it still works in a Losi Lasernut. Most reviews mention the TRX-4 or Stampede; the sample is small.
