About this part

This is a set of optional Traxxas Assembled Steel CV Driveshafts, and are intended for use with the Traxxas 1/16 E-Revo VXL.

Traxxas Steel Constant Velocity Driveshafts are designed to handle the extreme horsepower and articulation that 1/16 E-Revo VXL can dish out.The U-joint pins are held captive by a heavy duty o-ring so you never have to worry about losing a pin. The nickel plated steel shafts and black oxide treated accents not only look good, they are designed to exacting specifications for ultimate strength and performance. These are simply the most advanced steel CV driveshafts available for the 1/16 E-Revo VXL.

fresh out of the package one axle was bent, a week of usage had an inner cup break now to tear the whole car apart again to put the stock plastic ones back in.

These are crap. broke one and the other just pops out. I would buy the plastic inner half shaft and stick it on the outside

These CVD's are great! I have a 1/16 summit that kept eating through the stock erevo drive shafts ( I have 25mm wheel wideners which give it stability in the turns, but pop the stock shafts) I do recommend getting the steel center drive shafts as well, to much hook-up and turned my stock one into a pretzle.

What reviewers say

Reviews are mixed. One owner of a 1/16 Summit reports the steel CV driveshafts lasted where the stock Traxxas Revo-style shafts repeatedly failed, particularly with wider wheels, and recommends pairing them with steel center shafts. Two verified owners report failures: one received a bent axle out of the package and an inner cup broke within a week, and another broke a shaft while the other popped out. Both negative reviewers returned to the stock plastic shafts. The reviews are few and the experiences diverge, so durability appears inconsistent.

  • + Stronger than stock plastic shafts for one Summit owner
  • + Held up under wider wheels and hard driving in that report
  • − Axle bent out of the package in one review
  • − Inner cup broke after about a week of use
  • − Shafts pop out or break under load for some owners
