Traxxas EZ-Peak 3S "Completer Pack" Dual Multi-Chemistry Battery Charger w/Two Power Cell Batteries (5000mAh)
About this part
This is the Traxxas EZ-Peak Dual Multi-Chemistry Battery Charger System with two included "Power Cell" Batteries. This charging system uses the Traxxas iD Battery Identification and is a great solution if you need batteries and a charger for a Traxxas vehicle requiring two 3S LiPo batteries; such as the X-MAXX Monster Truck and X0-1 Supercar. Even if your Traxxas vehicle requires only one battery, you can still take advantage of this system and have two batteries for use.
iD Simplicity
With iD Auto-Battery Identification there’s no need to worry about the battery chemistry or capacity. EZ-Peak Dual identifies the type of battery and its capacity. EZ-Peak Dual also cuts down on wasted time by eliminating the hassle of programming and using complicated setups. Just plug an iD battery in and press Start. That’s it! Keeping with the simplicity and ease of use, the iD system eliminates fragile balance wires and clunky balance leads. The iD system streamlines the entire charging experience.
Traxxas' Most Powerful Charger
Faster charging means you get to spend more time behind the wheel. The EZ-Peak Dual puts out a full 100 watts of power that equates to 8-amps of charging horsepower. It’s a twin turbo-equipped charger. Traxxas iD LiPos (4000mAh or higher) charge nearly 2x faster in High Output Mode. The EZ-Peak Dual isn’t just for iD LiPos; the Multi-Chemistry nature of the charger means LiPos and NiMHs can be charged at the same time. Advanced Mode opens the door for backwards compatibility. This allows EZ-Peak Dual to charge any Traxxas Power Cell battery equipped with a first-generation Traxxas High-Current Connectors and Traxxas iD batteries independently or simultaneously. There are two balance ports built into the charger for Traxxas LiPo batteries equipped with external balance leads. Take full advantage of the 8-amp output and experience the pinnacle of charger flexibility and power.

We have several Traxass RC vehicles and our grandson is now enjoying them. We bought him this charger pack with 2 3S batteries to go with the e-revo we got him for his birthday. The charger worked 1 time and quit. I called HobbyTown and all I got was “Your grandson ran the vehicle until he killed the batteries”. We swapped out his charger with one of ours and the batteries charged just fine. The one we bought turned out to be a lemon. Maybe this review will get me a refund or an exchange for a new charger. Customer service associates aren’t always correct.
Started out w/ this combo when I bought my 1st UDR. Total no brainer to charge packs. I've bought more combos since and ALL my cars of ALL makes run on Traxxas batteries and chargers. Got 2 doubles chargers, 2 singles and ten or more packs now. No problems w/ ANY of them. Connectors are great as well.
Say what you want about Traxxas and their "Proprietary" connectors. But, this takes all the guess work out of LiPo charging and it's perfect for your first foray into the hobby and/or LiPo's in general. No balance leads to break off or worry about plugging in, no confusing menu's newcomers don't understand half of, etc. Plug in and go. As for battery performance they are a fine. Don't believe everything you read on labels. RCtalk has a thread discussing batteries as well as someone who has done extensive testing on a multitude of batteries from different manufacturers. Most batteries end up testing out to 25c regardless of how high they are "rated" for with the exception of a few. Traxxas batteries are not underpowered like many like to believe, they are just honest with their ratings and will be totally fine. Not the best performance you can get and not necessarily the best value, but as good as most batteries people tend to purchase. Some of the cost, just like spectrum, is paying for the convenience of plug and play charging without having to think about it. Id recommend these to any newcomer who just purchased a traxxas vehicle. If you're not new to the hobby, I'd suggest the more traditional route of normal batteries and an actual smart charger.
I bought this set for a friend of mine due to me having these and him just starting out. Great set of batteries and if taken care of, will last a long time. My set is going on 6 years old now and still work flawlessly!
I waited 18 months to write this review to see how these batteries lasted. I bought these to make it simple for my family to charge without too much complication. In the last 18 months these have been used weekly in one or more of our cars each weekend 3 trx4s, slash 2wd, slash 4x4, rustler 4x4, rustler 2wd and a kraton 6s. The batteries still work great, no puffing at all. I checked the internal resistance and one is 2,3,4 and the other is 3,4,3. These are lasting longer than I expected and they still work great.
Most reviewers rate the Traxxas EZ-Peak 3S Completer Pack highly, citing easy one-button operation, reliable charging, Traxxas ID connectors and good battery run time, with several noting the dual-port charger as a convenience for charging two packs at once. Some say it suits beginners and returning hobbyists. Criticisms include one unit or battery failing on arrival or soon after (a charger quitting, a battery smoking or bulging), no power switch, poor ventilation under heavy use, and the charger handling only Traxxas-type LiPo packs, not 4S or 6S. Reviewers also note it runs only one battery at higher charge current. Several positive reviews mention prompt service from the seller. Overall sentiment is strongly positive, with a minority reporting hardware faults.
