Traxxas Hard Anodized Teflon Coated Big Bore Front Shock Set (Long) (2)
About this part
This is an optional Traxxas Hard Anodized Teflon Coated Big Bore Front Shock Set. Traxxas Big Bore shocks provide the ultimate in damping control. They’re hard-anodized, Teflon-coated and have large cylinders for greater oil capacity. These shocks also include the super smooth, long wearing titanium nitride (TiN) coated shock shafts. Adjustments are a snap with clip-on spring pre-load spacers and installation time is reduced because the shocks are sold pre-assembled.
NOTE: This shock set does not include shock springs.

Wow these other reviewers obviously don’t know what they are doing. These big bore shocks work rather well, and they are indeed front shocks. If you look up the specs to almost any rc car you would know that (long) or (Large) shocks are for the front, and (XX-Long) or (XX-Long) are typically for rear shocks. I bought these for a quick upgrade for my Traxxas Rustler VXL. No problems have surfaced so far.
While the term 'long' may make one think that the shock set is for the rear, these are actually front shocks. The shocks you want to use for the rear are TRA2662: XX-Long
These do not fit a 2wd Slash. They are too short for the rears. I made the mistake of buying these for our Slash. These are not listed correctly. They hold less shock fluid than the stock ones. Instructions not included . Comes with fluid but does not tell you what grade.?.Leaked when I filled them. Please remove or modify, A Main.
Excelentes amortiguadores !!! usados en un chassis merge con Losi Mini-T Front Shock Springs , modificacion de la tapa con Traxxas Long and Short Rod and Ball Ends
Got these for my slash 4+4 they do not appear to be big bore the stock have a biger bore.they are way better than stock
Reviewers agree these shocks are intended for the front of a car, with some noting the 'Long' name can mislead buyers who expect rear shocks; rear XX-Long shocks are recommended instead. Opinions on performance are mixed to positive: one owner on a Rustler VXL reported no problems, another on a Slash 4+4 found them better than stock but questioned the big bore claim, noting stock shocks have a larger bore. One verified owner reported these do not fit a 2WD Slash rear, reported leakage when filled, and said the included fluid grade was not stated and instructions were missing. One non-English review praised the shocks on a Losi Mini-T setup. Reviews are few and sometimes conflict on bore size and fit.
- + Better than stock on a Slash 4+4
- + Quick upgrade for Rustler VXL
- + No problems reported by one owner
- + Works with other chassis modifications
- − Name suggests rear use but these are front shocks
- − Possible leakage when filled
- − Missing fluid grade and instructions
- − Not big bore compared to stock, per one reviewer
