This is no more durable then the plastic one. Go with the scrc one.

Pretty terrible if I do say so myself. I have a 4X4 Ultimate so this part came pre-installed. I've broken two already; not good for medium bashing or high-power road runs. Hopefully the STRC drive hub can withstand the power of my 9-cell NiMH because this certainly can't.

Much more durable than the stock plastic piece. Definitely recommend for anyone running more power than the stock system.

What reviewers say

Reviewers are divided on this hardened steel front drive hub. One reviewer rates it highly, saying it is much more durable than the stock plastic part and recommended for setups with more power. Two reviewers report it is no more durable than the plastic hub, and one says it broke twice on a 4X4 Ultimate used for medium bashing and high-power runs. One reviewer suggests a competing aftermarket hub instead. The sample is small and the experiences conflict, so durability under heavy use is unclear.

  • + Much more durable than stock plastic hub
  • + Recommended for higher-power setups
  • − Reported breakage under medium bashing and high-power use
  • − Some reviewers see no durability gain over plastic
