Traxxas Machined Delrin Drive Gear
About this part
Machine cut gears are more precise for less wear and friction. Provides quiet, more efficient operation. Use a light coating of silicon grease. (Note: Part #TRA3195X & TRA1996X must be used together. A new TRA2388 main diff gear should also be installed.)

This is a race part. If you are bashing leave the stock gear in. This is not a part for people who jump off scale mountains. It is a part for people looking to gain tenths of a second. I appreciate Traxxas for continuing to make parts like this available.
This gear is bad. It lasted about 2 races, then the little pin slot sheared out, rendering this unusable.
This is made for racing not bashing. It is to lower the rotational mass increasing speed. With that said, it will not take stop/start abuse. Its not made for that. However for racing it's fantastic and will last a few races. For 6 bucks I install a new one every race anyway. Thanks. Perfect gear.
Installed on a 2wd traxxas slash VXL. Used a light coat of grease, but after 5 runs, the delrin gear was completely worn out. Would not recommend over metal gears.
Reviewers agree the Delrin drive gear is intended for racing rather than bashing, where it is said to reduce rotational mass for quicker acceleration. Opinions split sharply on durability. Two reviewers rate it highly, stating it lasts a few races and is inexpensive enough to replace regularly. Two low-rated reviews report failure after roughly two races or five runs, including a pin slot shearing out and a fully worn gear on a 2WD Slash VXL, and advise metal gears instead. Reviewers also warn that it will not tolerate stop-start abuse. Overall, the gear is viewed as a short-life racing part rather than a durable everyday component.
