Bought this from my local traxxas dealer 1st 5-10 minutes of run already have a bad clicking noise found out the rear diffs are junk from factory so going to be spending money on x01 conversion. Then the next pack few days later just running in my basement the servo failed. Would i buy another one of these no just get a arrma and leave traxxas in dust is all i have to say Worst car from traxxas i have ever had. reason i stayed away from traxxas for 5 years. i decided to get this mini because it had 1/10 electronics and diffs but its worse then i have ever thought. Known issues wish i have known before buying is the bad diff and even worse chassis can snap pretty easily. stay away from this model tell traxxas has a recall and fixes all these issues
Runs, handles great and lots of fun to drive! I've been driving and racing RC cars for many years. This is a good one. I hear negative things about this truck and they're wrong. If you let off the throttle before it hits the ground, your diffs will be fine and if you don't jump them off of roof tops LoL it will be fine. It's an Awesome Truck!!!
I bought this truck for my son as his first rc and it has been good for us so far. I will definitely keep an eye in the diffs. I probably will change the diff fluid as they do seem pretty loose. But so far so good.
Reviewers are divided on this Orange Mini Maxx RTR. One owner reported a clicking noise within minutes of first use, a servo failure, and a chassis that can snap, and called the truck a poor purchase. Another owner described it as fun, well handling and durable when not subjected to hard landings, attributing concerns to rough use. A third, a first-time buyer for a child, reported good results so far but planned to watch the differentials, which feel loose, and possibly change the diff fluid. Differential durability under hard landings is the main recurring concern; the sample is small and includes one owner's report of a failed servo.
- + Handles well and fun to drive
- + Good for a first RC for a beginner
- + Positive results after initial use
- − Differentials reported as weak or loose
- − Clicking noise reported early on
- − Servo failure reported by one owner
- − Chassis reported to snap
