Decent power. Easy tune added it to my tmaxx 2.5R. Power ,I babies mine thru a slow break in and drove it 75% thru rest quart now 4 gallery no later still wheeling .i believe most just in a hurry to bash
This is a great engine .The break in was a breeze. Its very hard to tune though I had a rb .23 on my T maxx before this . and the tuning is way different instead of finding a great tune like hour s on a clock I had to do it by like min. maybe like 1/32 turn at the high speed needle at a time . If not you will be fighting the tune tell the cows come home. After 2 days of tuning and a 1/4 of a gallon later I have a great tune and I very pleased. If anything its got more power off the line then my .23 ever did.... I order this along with 2 gallons of nitro and a clutch bell and it all got here all atone time 7 days after ordering thats one week sooner then my lhs could have got it ordered for me at half the price.
If a 3.3 did not last past 2 gallons then it was probably run lean alot,or not taken care of,i have had mine for 3.5 gallons now and it is still strong, great motor for nitro rusty, polish the ports and get an ercm pipe to get the most out of them,do not try to fang port this motor,it will hurt bottom end, runs great ,idles all day!
Easy to tune, take apart, rebuild and run. A powerhouse of a small block nitro engine. Whats not to love?
Excellent Motor, the pull start is a bit rough on the hands. I attached to the T handle pull start a nylon 1/4 inch cord to a 1 inch metal tube with a closed loop. This made starting the motor pain free.
Reviewers generally rate the Traxxas TRX 3.3 Rear Exhaust IPS engine highly, praising its power, ease of break-in and strong performance in Traxxas T-Maxx-class models. Opinions differ on tuning: one reviewer found it fiddly, requiring very small needle adjustments, while others found it easy. Durability is mixed. One reviewer's engine failed before two gallons, which they suspected was a fluke, while another reported over 3.5 gallons and attributed early failures to running lean or poor maintenance. Some suggest porting and an aftermarket pipe for more output, cautioning against aggressive porting. The pull start is described as harsh on the hands, and a cord and handle modification was suggested to ease starting. All reviews reference the same variant.
