Traxxas makes really good products. Spoiler Alert **-- Im not a Traxxas Fanboy. I have other RC'brands. I will buy a Traxxas when I want undisputed parts availability for a model i look to keep for a lifetime. The Defender is one such rc car. The entire build quality is top notch.i still go thru Traxxas products like any other brand, u know, wheel nuts, driveshaft grub screws, locktite on these parts. The Defender is a great body. Tons of accessories availability. The longer wheelbase is nice. Only thing i did was heavy wheels, brass, and few roof accessories. Nothing heavy. Turning radius exceptional. Locking/ unlocking and 2 speed is nice. I don't go fit Dig or overdrive. I like it simple. Maybe light kit someday. I know the rage is clipless body, but I prefer the old. As you can raise the body a little if you want. Recommended A-Main and Traxxas cars, can't go wrong
Ended up buying this rtr TRX4 for the lockers and scale realism. I'm planning on doing a safari style wheeler/desert racer with it. Very scale and real driving reactions from this platform. I like a touch longer wheelbase fpr scale trucks. Traxxas has unlimited parts and upgrades for this truck.
