Good part to have with you if you don't want to use the differential lockers. easy to install. I have used it for a couple of months and it has not broken.
if you own a trx4 this is the only way to lock your diffs. the stock traxxas micro servos will strip themselfs out due to not having any end point adjustment in the radio, and nothing is worse then making it 99% up a climb just to roll and flip down the hill just because your diff unlocked. i have installed these in the front axles on two trx4s to replace the failed micro shift servos. also gives you the option to remove the added weight of the diff lock servos. i will be buying two more.
Worked as it should. Easy to install and has handled all the Hard crawling with no issues.
have not used it yet waiting for another traxxas micro servo to go out then i will be installing it.otherwise im sure it will serve its purpose well
I've converted two 6x6 rigs to full spools, only do crawling on the AZ rocks and nothing has broken. There's some decent weight savings to ditching the diff's, cables, and micro servos.
Five verified owners rate the Traxxas TRX-4 Spool between 4 and 5 out of 5. Reviewers agree it is an easy installation and a practical alternative to differential lockers, with several reporting no breakage in hard crawling or after months of use. Two owners say it replaced failed micro shift servos, and one notes weight savings from removing diff lock hardware. One reviewer had not yet installed it, so long-term durability is only partly tested. No significant disagreement appears in these reviews.
