About this part

This is an optional Traxxas WideMaxx Steel Constant-Velocity Driveshaft Set. This is a complete upgrade, with steel constant-velocity driveshafts, bearings and outdrives. These parts are intended for use with the Traxxas WideMaxx or the Traxxas Maxx equipped with the optional WideMaxx suspension kit (TRA8995). These parts must be combined with 17mm splined wheel hubs (TRA8654) and 17mm nuts (TRA7758) to complete the installation.

Must have if you are upgrading your Traxxas Maxx to a widemaxx. Along with the wheel hubs and nuts.

I've had these on my maxx for awhile.. if you get the wide maxx kit you will regret not getting these. I twisted my plastic ones on my second run. These parts were on back order everywhere. You have to buy these as well as the 17mm hexs but it's totally worth it.

I was gonna leave a review but it was not long enough for AMAIN. So I'm not leaving a review just telling AMAIN how this irrelevant requirement is not conducive to your customers. AMAIN get it together

What reviewers say

All seven reviews are five-star ratings for these steel constant-velocity driveshafts, and reviewers consistently describe them as fitting well and holding up better than the plastic originals on Traxxas Maxx-series trucks. Owners say they survived wrecks, high speeds and oversized tires that stripped the spur and pinion, and one reviewer reports about five packs of use without issues. Installation is described as easy and snug. Reviewers note that the driveshafts were hard to find on back order and that the 17mm hex parts are also needed. One reviewer's complaint concerned the retailer's review length requirement and shipping carrier, not the product itself.

  • + Holds up to wrecks and high speed
  • + Stronger than plastic driveshafts
  • + Fits snugly
  • + Easy installation
  • − Often on back order
  • − Requires 17mm hexes as well
  • − Reviewers mention needing extra parts
