About the X-Maxx X-Monster 8S Monster Truck
Advanced Electronics
The X-Maxx X-Monster features a VXL-8s™ Waterproof Electronic Speed Control paired with the powerful Velineon® 1200XL Brushless Motor, providing 8S LiPo compatibility and speeds of over 50mph with the optional pinion gear. Advanced cooling systems include dual motor fans, aluminum slip-on heat sinks, and integrated heat dissipation for sustained performance. Traxxas Stability Management® (TSM) ensures precise handling by automatically correcting for spinouts or loss of traction. The TQi™ 2.4 GHz High Output Radio System, with Traxxas Link™ integration, provides full telemetry, adjustable sensitivity, and seamless model memory for up to thirty Traxxas Link-enabled vehicles, while the high-output 2085XL metal-gear steering servo delivers immense torque and reliability.
Drivetrain & Suspension
The drivetrain is engineered for strength, featuring hardened steel gears, heavy-duty constant-velocity (CV) driveshafts, and splined aluminum center driveshafts for consistent power delivery. Torque-Biasing Center Drive™ technology helps absorb shock loads and distributes torque evenly to all four wheels. The suspension is built for durability and performance, using reinforced arms, heavy-duty steel pins, and C-hub geometry that maximizes steering angle. Aluminum GTX™ Shocks with oversized bores provide excellent damping with adjustable spring retainers, sealed cartridges, and rugged construction designed to handle even the roughest terrain.
Retention System & Durable Chassis
The heavy-duty modular composite chassis provides a rigid yet serviceable platform with interlocking bulkheads and an integrated sealed driveline. For protection, energy-absorbing rubber bumpers and reinforced skid plates shield against harsh impacts, while nerf bars guard the sides from collision damage. Wheels and tires feature dual-profile monster truck rims with huge 8.6-inch belted chevron-pattern tires, designed with soft rubber for grip and internal belting to prevent ballooning at high speeds. Additionally, the Snap-Lock Battery Retention System offers tool-free, clipless security with adjustable pivoting hold-downs, keeping batteries locked firmly in place for maximum reliability.

A+. A slight upgrade from the regular XMAXX. Has the HD arms, HD lower hinge pin, and the best part…belted terra groove chevron style tires! I really love the new X monster over the xmaxx and xmaxx ultimate.
I always wanted a giant monster truck ever since I was a kid and saw a Clodbuster tearing around a dry riverbed. Fast forward almost 40 years and I finally have my own monster basher. This thing is a tank! I love the proportions especially with the Pro-Line Ram TRX body. Out of the box it was pretty hard to control all that power. The suspension was very under-sprung so it wallowed a lot. I have since put stiff springs on and it has transformed it into a much more manageable machine. The TSM works really well too. I did order all the body mounting parts separately which was still cheaper than buying the Traxxas Monster body. I did remove the monster truck retro bumpers in favor of the regular X Maxx bumpers since they look a lot better with the Ram body. I did go with 8s 6700 batteries and didn't realize I couldn't use my existing Traxxas charger so, I had to order a 4s charger. The runtime is excellent and have not even gotten close to running out of juice. I grew up in the days when nitro had the best runtime. This thing can go and hour at least! In 1989, when I was 12, I had an original Traxxas Hawk which I slowly upgraded to a Blue Eagle LS. Since then I have owned a Traxxas T-Maxx and a Rustler VXL 4X4 and love how quick it is, especially with 3s but this massive truck is so much more fun and can go over everything in my back yard. I have a little over 1/2 acre to play on so if you're looking for an X Maxx, I'd recommend that you have enough space to run it. It's the best engineered large scale monster truck available.
