This is an excellent boat, with one fatal flaw - parts support. AMain nor any other American retailer stocks parts for this boat. On my first outing it performed beautifully, it is quick enough to be fun and about the size of a Traxxas Blast, which is the perfect size for ponds and lakes. It is much faster and better than a Blast in every other regard. I own an old Villain EX and I love it dearly but wanted something smaller and easier to carry around. This boat ticks all the boxes. It is fast, stable, self rights reliably, and water tight. Battery life is excellent, and plenty of other small 3s packs fit well. It does have a strong list on the battery side at rest in the water, but it levels out under power. Turning is good and remarkably flat. My one grievance is the availability of parts. After my first run I carefully used a soldering iron to melt the thread locker on the set screw type motor coupler. (A collet style coupler like what is used on the UDI005 Arrow would have been better, but for the price, its okay.) I was able to remove all the set screws in the coupler which should have released the flex cable. However when I tried to remove the cable from the back of the boat the prop shaft pulled off the cable. It is crimped on from the factory. I was eventually able to separate the cable from the coupler by removing the motor and pulling it out with pliers. Do this first! Do not try to remove the cable by pulling on the prop shaft end. You can remove it the normal way after the first time. I was able to resecure the prop shaft to the cable after cleaning it thoroughly and using epoxy to glue it back on, and I was finally able to complete this basic after run maintenance step of greasing the flex cable, which is absolutely crucial to maintaining the boat. I was able to source a replacement cable via AliExpress after contacting both UDI, (no response) and AMain (no warranty, no stocked parts) So I would strongly advise you purchase a boat with parts support in the USA, which is a shame because I love this boat, but having to wait on parts from China is no good. I find it very strange other UDI models have good parts support but this one does not.
